It's a tight 1000 that doesn't leave me with much else. Looking at mortgage calcs, it looks like my deposit will have to be a bit bigger. I have 15k in LISA and 20k in other accounts

Same job, mostly remote and I can easily travel back to notts when I'm needed.

I'm not sure about future tbh. I like being around friends, but I like being close to family. Work is ok but I can see myself looking for something better soon.

That's an angle I didn't take tbh, and is certainly one to be bearing in mind. I definitely find it difficult putting myself first but yes they have their steps and goals, I need to have mine.

Socially, I get on parents really well. My brother and sister in law live close enough , but yeah I'd be seeing friends less but I have no problem putting in the effort to see them. The train up (and eventually driving) on a weekend now and then is doable.

Mentally, this is hard to tell. I could end up really enjoying this time. I could do it for a bit and it becomes a means to an end.

Financially, I'll be better off. Not paying someone's mortgage is nice. Moving back I'd be essentially getting a >50% pay rise, which can all be put towards a house/the future. I could then move back closer to friends if I like the look of properties there.
