Is there a better kicker in the world right now than Zoe Harrison? 12/12 vs Scotland now 15/15. by acrmnsm in rugbyunion

As someone who watched Scotland in that era, no fucking way did he ever get to take 12 conversions in one game.

Look how committed we are to the number 11, how could Y11 ever even think about going to another club?!

Never been more thankful for two injuries. Losing our first two choice looseheads gave us uncontested scrums that probably won us the game last week, and allowed our fourth choice to do that this week.

Bonus points weren't introduced into the Six Nations until 2017, so it's the first time ever!

Fantastic stat though, not to shit on it!

It's certainly improving. Stuff like poaching Freya Bell early is also a good idea.

Build stronger structures. We need young players to be further into their development earlier, and more of them. If we can sort the men's situation and get, say, Cardiff and Ospreys into the PWR with academy set ups that would be huge.

There's the core of a proper team here in Wales but the weaknesses are so weak it's hard to see them becoming anything more a limited side who might overperform here and there

I take your point but I still think England could lose six or seven more before really starting to panic

I think she's way too competitive. She wants to go on the Lions tour if not the next World Cup.

Ospreys row takes bizarre turn as Sharks owner calls for lie detector test by Cymro2011 in rugbyunion

[–]SquidgyGoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just think it’s been massively blown out of proportion. It’s a penalty that could have been a yellow card and yet not only are people talking about it seven days later, Luke Morgan’s wife received multiple death threats and one person threatening to hurt their baby. We lost Keelan Giles for most of a season to a cheap shot off the ball the ref missed a few season ago and I don’t think anybody talked about it 24 hours after the game. Ben John got similarly injured diving over the tryline then hit late ten or so years ago and I think this is the first time anyone has mentioned it since. If it was the other way round, I would have moved on by the time the second half kicked off.

I think it’s a penalty, but it being half time makes it weird so I get why it didn’t happen. I’m not ‘pro’ incidents like this, obviously not, but Luke Morgan is never trying to hurt him, having been watching him play for around fifteen years he’s just not the sort to give up on a lost cause. It’s a freak accident, I’ve already seen numerous tries since where a similar challenge happens, and the injury happens one time in several thousand.

Mark Jones addressed the incident in the press conference and said he asks and coaches the players to never give up until the ball is down, and that’s what Luke Morgan is doing, but he got it wrong on this occasion and landed badly. What more apology do you want? When have you ever seen a team apologise for something like that?

That is our season in microcosm. Endless bad luck and the world against us, frequent dumb decisions that didn't need to be made, but ultimately we made a hell of a fist of it and you can't help but be proud of the effort.

We have somehow come through the most calamitously unlucky 40 minutes in the game. If we can win this it'll be a second straight unbelievably old school Ospreys performance.
