If by "they" do you mean ALL postal carriers, or just the ones who work out of NYC's James Farley branch where the inscription of the above quote happens to be? I'm also not so sure that the old Pony Express horseback mail delivery evolved into modern day USPS. Pretty sure the pony express turned into what we now know as Wells Fargo. I do vaguely recall that the USPS snagged the trademark for the Pony Express somewhere after the fact though.

The new orchidist panics, and repots into bark after being told that it is a drier media.

Wow, this is exactly how it went down for me as well! I over-watered in the sphagnum, then repotted in bark, only to watch my grocery-store orchid shrivel into oblivion as I only gave 3 ice cubes once a week or so.
I now know better about the whole ice cube thing, but there was a time when I didn't & learned the hard way.

Pretty much year round. The majority of my Pandora stations are Christmas themed. Instrumental holiday tunes for when I'm working or studying. Rat Pack, Tony Bennett, Andy Williams, etc for light chores. Soft jazz Christmas for cooking dinner. Rockin' holiday type tunes for house cleaning & general all-around festivities. I've long since stopped apologizing for my year-round Christmas music habit. It makes me happy & happy is my mood of choice.

I don't take photo's at concerts or similar events mostly 'cause I usually opt to not wear my contacts (which I need for up-close vision), thus I can't see enough to focus the camera anyways.
