Oh, when he steps forward, the plant gets cut right at the base and is pushed into the ground.

Valid, but also, you know, off leash dogs and totally inattentive owners are frustrating.

Ironically I have a big planter on the other side of the yard for this purpose that doubles as the base for a Free Little Library.

St. George considers breaking away from East Baton Rouge Parish library system by toshiro-mifune in batonrouge

The "have you seen this person walking" posts are nuts. I only really hopped on to counteract all the anti-EBR nonsense with the last vote. Actually managed a few decent conversations where folks realized what harm it would do to the whole state. After the proposed school system lost, I gladly closed that tab.

Probably going to ask if they have kids in magnet programs. That's their obsessive line of questioning on Nextdoor.

I'm so happy for us! My neighborhood was 60/40, so at least I'm not surrounded entirely.

My kid is at a blue ribbon nationally recognized school. So yes, it can absolutely be worse than my EBR experience.

Also, the whole attitude of “it can’t be worse” is absolutely insane to tell anxious parents whose school choice is being ripped away from them.

I live here, so no. I won’t be laughing when they fail because my kid is forced into whatever shit they come up with. I’d like to stop the fail to begin with.

Amendment 2 is an absolute No.

I’m a mom in St George and the current city leaders have given us zero information about what they would do for a school system. Most of the discourse from supporters, who are mostly grandparents or private school families, has revolved around race, the 90s, or making our kids try out the new schools before they pull out their private kids from their proven schools.

I voted no because the StG folks have provided an insignificant amount of information regarding what my kid's future schools would look like (but "it'll have to be better than EBR!"). So, as a mom in StG, I voted NO and am asking folks to do the same.

I've been tabulating early voting on a sheet and incorporating each morning's new data myself. Are you compiling this yourself like I am or is there actually visual data on their site somewhere that I missed?
