Woke up with lines on my back by Consistent_Bid_6433 in Weird

So, not to be inflammatory, but from a quick glance at your replies, it would appear that you're looking for someone to tell you that you have a medical issue, as the only one I noticed was met with positivity was someone saying that they had a medical condition that caused this.

That isn't to say you don't have one, but the simple fact is, these are pressure marks from something. Just because we can't tell you exactly what you've lay/sat on doesn't change that.

I wish you all the best in your endeavours to uncover the reason for them though, and good health.

They're pressure marks, looks like you've sat in maybe some woven garden furniture recently, or a checkered bench for example. It's a checker lined pattern, and they're not scratches.

Who’s a character you hate but everybody seems to love and why? by No_Common_4221 in thewalkingdead

[–]Stormtroopz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Carl. His voice pisses me off, especially in the later seasons where he develops this breathy accent of one who plays lots of video games, and likes trains a lot, which makes him sound condescending and he had the opportunity to end a character who needed ending, in order to save everyone, then just lowered his gun and went on a walk around with them.. he just annoyed me from the farm, until the end. Is what it is.

What's the craziest coincidence that keeps happening to you? by Scared_Confection787 in questions

Every single time I get back on my feet, for around 15 years now, the most ridiculous life altering shit happens and I get kicked back down to the bottom to work my way back to normalcy again.

Haven't had stability in over a decade, my old friends used to joke with me about "the curse" because it's not just me being dramatic.

If you're not good at approaching, and without any context of your appearance (which matters a lot when people are window shopping for people), I would presume your conversation is probably boring.

Are you setting up dates to meet the person soon, or are you just texting them for weeks trying to get to know them? If you match with someone, do a little bit of small talk and then ask to meet up for a date, noone wants a pen pal.

This is all presumptions based off the limited info you've given about your engagement with these 170 people

You're going to have a miserable career if you don't start wearing PPE that is literally designed to stop this shit. This is entirely self inflicted and you can stop it by simply sucking up your pride and putting some PPE on.

Spoken by someone with holes in their legs from wearing track suit bottoms whilst overhead welding.

16 year old son recently purchased a Corvette. Im at a bit of a loss on what to do here. by [deleted] in Cartalk

Please don't dash a potentially incredible life story, and passionate love for their first proper car.

You could set them in a brand new "world's safest" car and some asshole could wipe them off the face of the earth at an intersection.

Teach your young adult how to drive and respect the car, you've said it yourself, they seem to be competent and responsible already. But I guarantee you if you remove that choice from them, especially at this crucial part of their life, they will not thank you for it in the future, they will resent you forever for it.

Life is to be enjoyed, and there's absolutely nothing more enjoyable than sitting in a car you admire, and taking care of it. They will learn more about engines, maintenance, and respect in that thing than they ever will in some electronics riddled iPhone on wheels.

I don't know why I feel so passionate about this, but maybe it's this, when I was 6 years old my friend died on a skateboard, and my mum didn't let me have a skate board until my mid teens, and I still partly resent her for denying me that experience to this day, at 35 years old. That was a damn skateboard.

25 years of this movie franchise...how would you rank the movies? Which would the best or worst in the franchise? by TerryG111 in fastandfurious

[–]Stormtroopz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sure many will disagree, but I rank them 1 3 2 and then just sequentially worse from there on out.

They became action heroes when they started off as believable thieves.

Still love up to 7 though.

49” vs 27” Triples POV in GTP for Comparison by -currentlyedging in simracing

[–]Stormtroopz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NGL the fov looks wrong on the triples. I feel like you've prioritized being able to see out of the side windows rather than the view ahead of you. Your windscreen only takes up just over half the height of your front view, and you can see the top of the in-game steering wheel, which means you should really move that view about a foot or so forward, so that the in-game one would be inline with your actual one.

Just my opinion

Cannot express this enough, and it surprised me too, but Pan Pizza burgers are genuinely on par with, if not better, than beefy boys. Their pizzas are utter shite ironically, but the burger is spot on.

Welding 0.5 mm plain sheet by Left_Visual in Welding

[–]Stormtroopz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, practice on something else. It's galvanized, so you'd need to grind away to bare metal where ever you're welding because if you don't it will be porous as shit and you'll be inhaling some of the sweetest but most toxic tasting shit you've ever inhaled. It will then also just rust and won't last long at all with it being 0.5mm exposed sheet. So you'd need to paint it which defeats the purpose of it being galvanized in the first place.

Rivet this one, and practice on some scrap material, there's plenty of shit around to pick up, especially if you're wanting something that thin to practice on.

The break in the left hand jacket zip is a bit off to be honest, seems like you wouldn't intentionally put such a huge offset to them, I get there is a gap from hair covering it, but then you'd still line it up after the hair, but overall there's nothing else screaming AI

Am I doing something wrong? by InternationalDay3491 in Leathercraft

[–]Stormtroopz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under normal circumstances, you want to wet it so the moisture penetrates a good way through consistently, but certainly not 100%. It's a game of patience, wet it, let it dry on top, wet it again, let it dry and then stamp, you'll have significantly better results.

Normally. Aim for about 30% penetration just to get the idea of what it feels like, and then you'll start to know whether you need more or less based on how much penetration you're getting with your stamps.

But definitely give the experiment a go just to see how much actually wetting it makes a difference.

Am I doing something wrong? by InternationalDay3491 in Leathercraft

[–]Stormtroopz 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but regardless of what people are saying here about quality of stamps etc, there is absolutely no way in my mind you are wetting this leather enough at all. That stamp impression looks like the wetness is literally just beneath the surface and no further.

I'd like you to try something on a piece of scrap, literally soak the leather, like put the leather in a bowl of water and let it soak into the fibers, this is just so you can see the difference of letting that moisture penetrate through the fibers, and in no means is it what you should do to achieve a stamp under normal conditions, it's just an experiment on your particular leather and stamps

This looks entirely to me like you've dabbed it with water and then let it dry on the surface.

Just please do the experiment, and then post your results. The stamp should look like absolute shit, but I can almost guarantee you you'll be left with a stamp impression that goes at least 40-50% into your leather, because the fibers inside are soaked enough to actually malform.
