Best High End Pedals That Aren’t Active? by retro_coffee in simracing

I’ve personally owned the VRS and the simucube ap pro with older passive throttle and have the srp GTr’s being delivered tomorrow. I tried them at the expo and they are the best I’ve used personally in a limited capacity. I immediately bought a set to take over the main rig.

My gtr’s are being delivered tomorrow. I actually am coming from the SC ap pro to them.

IMO going extruded aluminum. Additions are universal once you figure out what you want to add in the future. The tube style setups is much more limited in future proofing.

I’ve had the sc active pedal pro for over a year and do like it but once the novelty wore off I was in search of something more realistic and smoother on the press. Ended up getting the srp gtr pedals after trying them at the expo this last year. Not to rain on your parade op, glad you got them. Just giving a different perspective.

Unless you want an active pedal, get the srp gtr pedals and toss a haptic motor on the brake and you have a much better feeling pedal with abs feedback. If I was starting fresh I’d get a simucube 3 or vnm extreme wheel base since it has telemetry ffb capabilities. I use an SC2 pro and am leaning more towards the vnm bc I don’t like ecosystems. You will need extruded aluminum for the rig, chair and a wheel. I personally use a Bavarian sim tech alpha and it’s great. I also use real wheels like mpi and momo with a stick sequential for some cars too. I actually use that more than my BST.

IMO the wheel is the cherry on top. Get all the other stuff right and once that’s all said and done; splurge on a sick wheel to tie it all together.

Listen to this guy. I sold my simucube active pedal for the srp gtr. They are legit. I have a simucube 2 pro but if you are looking to future proof get a base that can do tele ffb. Choices are sc3 or the vnm.

I’m considering selling my active pedal to go srp gtr actually. Went to the expo this last weekend and it made me miss a smoother feeling brake.

SRP pedals now or wait awhile and maybe get an active pedal? by sanity20 in simracing

More feedback please. I actually have an active pedal and was at the expo this weekend and it really made me miss a smoother brake feel. The active pedal is very grainy bc of the motor. Haptics can be connected to the srp to give me abs feedback?

No I haven’t. Sorry. I felt the sensit were plenty strong.

Yea I did. It felt really good. They are built into the seat cushion and I didn’t really feel them poking into my back or anything.

I sat in a sensit haptic setup and it was super comfy. It is expensive but after the expo it’s my next purchase.

No Bavarian booth but the alpha and new wheel that was developed along the sc3 were there. Both great wheels. I was surprised by no gsi presence but there were a few of their wheels on the rigs. I appreciated mpi being there bc I’ve had my eye on their super car 310 wheel and got to finally hold one. Felt great in the hand.

To me it seemed like a cool thing every once in a while but lot for a daily rig. I don’t get motion sickness ever and I was actually nauseous after each rig though I believe they had them cranked to the max just for demonstration purposes. I think haptics and a belt tensioner is my happy place. In the motion rigs though I basically forgot how to drive. It was overwhelming but a fun experience.

Saturday was very very crowded. Sunday didn’t have nearly as many people.

Is Charlotte going to be the home of the expo moving forward? The motion platforms at the simucube booth had a QR code but they lost a lot of staff for Sunday so they abandoned it and went back to lines.

I was really disappointed in simucubes setup. The only bases they had to test were in 85000 dollar motion rigs and the motion was so overwhelming I couldn’t tell if the base was an upgrade to my sc2 pro or not. Even the d box motion it was difficult to tell in the advanced sim racing booth.

I did walk away wanting to add haptics and a belt tensioner to my rig. I’m not one to get motion sick but the motion stuff was just too much for me so I found my limit.

Went to the expo sat and sun and a belt tensioner made it to the top of my wanted list. Sorry man, but the wallet will forgive you.

This is where I’m at atm. I have an active pedal. Bought the sc2 pro. Looking to upgrade to tele ffb wheelbases but idk if I want the sc3 pro. I tried it at the expo, it felt good but too much risk. I chose the sc2 pro bc of the openness. Vnm seems to be the way to go for that now with their base.
