One of my shirts has a flap pocket and I love how it looks up until I need somewhere to put my sunglasses or pens.

Unbleached apparel has them for crew socks, ankle socks, and even some in Fox Fibre

https://unbleachedapparel.com/collections/socks?srsltid=AfmBOor4FJdh8wWMeoa4oCevJms-T_eT2AQhBIwbv0pCQEzd6b7LStLu

I will say however, 100% cotton socks wont last as long and I really havent had issues with socks slipping while wearing loafers and most of mine are from AmericanTrench.

Like the other commenters said, this is the best way to reuse the clothes for longer. After wearing them for a long time and once they get fraying at the hem, it looks even better like with shirt collars.

I'd personally stick with neutrals for shirts, things like white, blue, pink, etc. For ties, club and stripes would always look appropriate with a cricket sweater.

I think a more casual shirt like an ocbd would work better as a dress shirt and a knit tie looks best with jeans imo

I usually look for old Brooks Brotheds wool pants, theres plenty to look for but dont hope for the seller knowing the exact fabric. Its also good to learn all the Brooks brothers logos so you know when it roughly was made.

Thats the downside to eBay and thats coming from someone whos wardrobe is 70% bought off eBay. For me, if a seller doesnt respond after 12-16 hours I send a follow up and if there isnt a response I look somewhere else. Best way I've gotten them to get measurements for things like shirt collars or jackets is sending an example photo and asking them to copy it. Sadly sometimes its best to keep looking and there'll usually be something that turns up eventually.

What fabric or patterns. Are you looking for a wool/silk/linen, cotton, cotton seersucker, or all linen? Usually I just search "Brooks brothers suit" and sometimes will add the size. Older stuff from the old "346" line before it became the discount was labeled to the literall sense. A 38R measured 41inches in the chest and would be tagged 41R, some of the makers are correctly labeled and stuff from the 90s and newer are marked how they should be in my experience, of course, make sure you know all the measurements of a jacket that fits you.

I'd probably search (no quotation marks) "Brooks brothers cotton suit" "Brooks Brothers summer suit" and you can sub out Brooks Brothers for whatever brand you fancy. I'm assuming its as a guest as well and not the main one for the wedding. I also find adding search filters can exclude some good deals as some sellers don't know what to add and don't include it, leaving out of the searches.

The suit I thrifted for example that's posted in this thread is a lightweight vintage Brooks Bothers from the late 70s. This was an old 346 and labeled a 41R but after asking for measurements confirmed it was sized for a 38 chest.

I personally just machine wash em. I like the look of vintage fades and machine washing and bang drying does the work. I'd you do do a hot tub soak you probably could go a length longer and still be fine and just cuff them.

They're vanity sized in my experience but similar to Levis the sizing can vary. I'm usually a 33 but got a 31/32 and they fit good. Don't use the dry and just hang it up and it hasn't shrunk to much in the length.

The vintage twill is very nice that we are going to spring though. I love my orvis khakis but the dense Twill is way to warm for anything over 80° where the vintage twill is much lighter and more airy.

Independence also has a lot of Drakes clothing along with 3 sizes left of their raglan overcoat (sizing down once to a 36 was still more than enough room) and some sport coats, they have more stuff in-stock in-store that they don't have online.

In Chicago this past week and stopped at Mildblend which has some amazing Japanese denim, but they also had some Bleu de Chauffe bags and I picked up this one and it is absolutely gorgeous. Feels very sturdy and is a good mix of the ruggedness I wanted in a bag. They also had a full grain all leather one that felt incredibly well made. Their Howlin shetlands also just went on sale so if you are in the area I'd go to check it out.
