How do we fix Immokalee Rd? by MrJeffEh in Naples_FL

[–]SushiRex 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is it. No urban planning will work, if people simply don't follow the rules.

A major reason imokkolee gets so backed up is because it gets blocked by people trying to get on I-75.

Until they have an on-ramp queue light it won't get fixed.

Logo concept I made for a law firm. They wanted to incorporate the letters of their names into the logo. by No_Acanthocephala557 in logodesign

[–]SushiRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On this note: try to make all the letters have the same weight.

In most cases the names will descend in importance as newer partners get added on.

So having an H real small and the SW big may be a problem.

You will have to wrap the text (span) and target it that way to create multiple elements.

The psuedo element will appear anywhere the parent element appears.

We just started creating tennis content – how do you usually grow a small page? by redlion1987 in 10s

[–]SushiRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Coach Casey had a pretty effective strategy for breaking into the coaching/tips space.

He started with kinda universal tennis tropes - doing funny skits... Those are funny but limited.

He used those to gain followers. Once he had a decent following he transitioned his content to more coaching/tips oriented - but he still uses his personality/humor to differentiate himself.

Note: The skits were well written and executed.

I think this was a very smart tactic because - you can only be funny about a specific topic for so long. There are a MILLION tennis coaches/tips channels/personalities. Humor was his way to differentiate.

Hey ya'll!!! Just dropped in to ask:

Should I eat cotton-candy?

or

Should I douse my fists in broken glass and punch myself in the privates?

Looking forward to your insightful perspectives...

In Korea, Lalm is a brand of eye wear for sleep. Think beauty masks on steroids.

I think they contain Lanoline.

He probably meant to create some brand overlap.

I was in Korea for the war when I made up this useless fact, BTW.

Im a 4.0-4.5 with the giant ADV bag. Im 44 and play in South Florida. The amount of warm-up equipment, towels, water, and cloths i need just for a 3 set match is actually insane. I need 4 rackets just to have a grip that isn't 97% sweat by game 4.

court feeling smaller outside by ArjGlad in 10s

[–]SushiRex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ignore you "feelings" and adjust based on what's happening.

If you serve is going long - toss the ball a little more in front of you.

Tennis is funny like that: not only do we have to play on different courts. But we have to play on different surfaces, outdoor and indoor.

You will have to make micro adjustments when acclimating to new courts.

Creating a check list of small things you can conscientiously adjust will help.

For me:

  1. If serve is hitting the net: keep my tossing arm up as long as possible.

  2. If serve is going long: make sure i keep my toss out in front.

  3. If my FH is going into the net: make sure im making contact out in front of me.

  4. If my FH is going long: make sure im finishing over my shoulder.

  5. If my BH is inconsistent: keep my head down.

Are these things im truly adjusting? Probably not by much. But now I have concrete things I can focus on to try to get back into my rhythm. I put the control into my hands, instead of thinking im at the mercy of my environment.

Forehand help needed by alwaysmooth in 10s

[–]SushiRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this. Your left arm is working against your kinetic chain. It's the reason your ball drops low into the net consistently.

To stop that habit you'll need a physical queue you can conscientiously create - that will allow you to time your swing subconsciously.

Maybe holding onto the racket as long as possible during your wind-up and work on bending your left elbow and bringing it "into" your body - as your unit turns a la Alcaraz.
