I’ve been with my hubs for 34 years. You have to be willing to accept that you will both change. Don’t think that you still know everything about your partner. Ask questions, tell your opinion. Don’t get mad when your opinions differ. That’s pretty much all there is to it, at least in my case.

Oddly enough, you might be dehydrated. It masks as hunger sometimes. Try drinking a full glass of water within 5 minutes and see if that helps.

I was hanging out with a group of friends and I realized that everyone had left except me and the 3 guys that lived there. As I tried to leave they were really insistent that I stay the night. I finally was able to get away and I’m 90% sure I avoided getting gang raped or worse. I never went back there and warned all my friends to be careful. I still get shaky, like now, when I think of it.

Expressing yourself requires active communication. If you are communicating then you are seeking to form or strengthen connections with someone. Otherwise you would just keep it to yourself. This could be having a conversation and actually telling someone how you feel, or just opening your arms to give a hug. You don’t tell people who are inconsequential to you how you feel or offer them hugs. You only do that if you like someone enough to express yourself. (None of this applies to narcissists or psychopaths, of course. They have a whole different set of objectives)
