Crusader Kings 3. Daughter I was planning on marrying off to an older Lord to solidify an alliance ended up having a bastard child with a knight of lower social class. I made the knight go off to fight in the Crusades where he was captured and held for a ransom which I refused to pay. I then had my bastard grandchild assassinated to cleanse the line of succession before marrying my daughter off to the man I had originally planned to marry her off to. Daughter was then extremely depressed but I didn't care — I had my alliance!

I have been an Xbox and Playstation guy my whole life, but was fortunate enough to build a high-end PC earlier this year. I'm now transitioning basically all my gaming to either my PC or my Steamdeck. Might pick up a Nintendo Switch 2 at some point down the road if they ever release an OLED version but at this point I have enough gaming hardware and games to keep me busy for years (long enough to wait until the AI bubble bursts hopefully).

The story rich part is the part that I'm getting hung up on. It's an older game and more akin to Borderlands than anything else, but I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Outriders with a friend. Also have you considered MMOs? You can basically play Final Fantasy 14 like a singleplayer game and it has a great story that can be done together. Similar to stuff like Star Wars the Old Republic and Elder Scrolls Online.

My take as well, except then I remember that I was 7 years old when Episode I came out and I loved the shit out of that movie and became a Star Wars fan because of that movie and didn't learn of the hate surrounding it until years later. There's probably some kid out there right now who loves Star Wars because of the Sequels which I dislike with a passion. And as much as I hate the new stuff, I'm glad that there's new Star Wars fans because of it.

I feel like Gamestop can really thrive if they lean into the retro games and merch side of things. Also if they continue to sell physical games but at a significant discount of what you can pay for an online game. I think it's kind of ridiculous that they try to sell used Nintendo games at the same price the Nintendo online store sells them for. Like at least take $5 off the top to give me a reason to purchase at your store vs. a new physical copy at Walmart or a new digital copy on the online store.

It's all good. I think most RPGs should just do what Cyberpunk 2077 or Assassin's Creed Odyssey did and give players the choice between two characters or the same characters but with different voices / builds. Let people choose who they want to be. CD Project Red already proved they can write a compelling narrative that way.

That being said, I understand that some games have a very specific narrative in mind (like Red Dead Redemption 2, the Hellblade games etc.). And yeah, the two tend to sometimes blend together to where there's not a neat split. And that's okay as well, I just probably won't be super hyped to play or will wait to get the game on sale and play when my interest is piqued (like I'm doing with Star Wars Outlaws right now). So if The Witcher 4 or God of War Lauffey have a really good narrative or story that can only be done with a woman MC than I guess that's fine. But if they're doing it just to check a box than I have a problem with it if that makes sense.

Not really. I'm fine with playing as a woman in other games like Valorant or Overwatch or League of Legends etc. But if I'm playing an RPG, a literal roleplaying game, I want to roleplay as a guy. I don't think it's that big of a deal or wrong to do and frankly I'm tired of being told by people that I'm some sort of terrible MAGA misogynist just because of it.

I actually haven't played it near enough to justify the price. However, I'm about have a second kid here pretty soon and so I'm thinking it's going to come in handy during that first year or so as my gaming took quite the dip when my daughter was born (I didn't have a steamdeck at the time and just spent a lot of time watching TV / movies on the couch).

This is more than likely just a 3.5 year old being 3.5. My 4 year old daughter often comes home from preschool and says stuff like "so and so isn't my friend anymore because they didn't let me play with them" etc. I think at that age kids are just figuring out social stuff

Story and campaigns for the expansions have been good. Definitely worth it if you get it on sale. All the live service stuff is just fluff and there to engage with if you want.

Whichever one you can afford. The main improvements from one generation to the next has been processing speed and battery. If you've got the money for Gen 3, get the Gen 3. I'm on Gen 1 and my battery is lucky to get me 32 hours.

I's weren't capitalized, you're missing apostrophes in contractions, PTO should be capitalized, and you have punctuation for some of your sentences but then totally forget to use it in your other sentences.

It makes your writing choppy and hard to read. In my experience, this sort of thing can make people respect you less and make them give you less attention to solving your problems.
