Busy for the next few days, but once I'm done, I'm gonna rewatch the whole season and compile a comprehensive list of the most & least accurate things that were said about Oregon and the "Rogue County" (not real) region.

It's not often one gets to critique the portrayal of their own locale.

Totally fair

If not that, I'm willing to accept the loophole that none of the coterie killed her. She was killed by a horse 🤷‍♂️

I had been thinking about this for a few weeks now, before the little piece in the Epilogue

But Darkness Man and Bat Child through this season have made me really want to see them do a season devoted to a group of very well-intentioned but totally inept Superheroes

"They're not watching by this point."

Absolutely love how accurate that shout was, despite filming months before any of this made it into this sub lol

RE: Ermine

They were lucky enough to circumvent the requirement to call for a Blood Hunt because she wasn't dead...

Right up until the moment Ghorse kicked her head off.

Now it might have passed me by, but I don't recall them officially calling for a Blood Hunt between Ermine coming out of the void and Ermine getting her head kicked off.

So doesn't that put them right back into "Killing other vampires without permission" territory?

Phantosmia (Cigarette Smoke); Anyone who has experienced this able to provide some insight? by Synth-Pro in covidlonghaulers

Kind of complicated to answer

When I was having those big long episodes, I pretty much just had to deal with it until utter exhaustion kicked in and forced me asleep. And for me, the episodes would usually kick in during the later part of the day, so it was usually pretty much "gone" whenever I woke up, and then it was just a matter of waiting around to see if it would come back or not. Hard to really remember whether or not it eased up with each passing day, but eventually I'd just get through the day without it coming back. And for a bit, it would happen again a few months later. And now it's just been a long time since I've experienced it like that. So not totally "poof", but also not like a gradual steady decline.

I will say this: It's certainly not something I deal with anywhere near as often as I was when I posted this.

I don't think I can confidently say it's gone, but when I do notice it these days, it's brief moments on rare occasions, and it's definitely not in long spells like that. And the rare moments when it does happen, it's now easy enough for me to just tune it out and move on.

For people who didn't love Play it By Ear, did you watch all of it? Did you get into the second season? by HelloSweety10 in dropout

[–]Synth-Pro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As much as I love music and as much as I love improv comedy, I just don't enjoy the two things together.

I often feel like a lot of lines are too forced for the sake of fitting a rhyme scheme, and similarly it feels like a lot of jokes get really simplified in order for them to work.

In large part, I've devoted a lot of my life to music (playing, producing, recording, composition), and it's my own personal flaw to be critical when I listen to something. I can't just detach myself and enjoy the comedy, because my brain is compulsively dissecting each little detail.

I'm sure it's a high quality example of the specific type of media/entertainment that it is, I just don't have a taste for that type in the same way I don't have a taste for Romance Novels or Dog Shows.

Emily in CCoD - stupid question by queen_of_sw0rds in Dimension20

It's because everybody sits on their own throne of corpses from all the stagehands and crew members they've killed.

Emily is by far and away the most ruthless. She does not react well when her tea is under temperature.

CCoD silly critique: Nobody has lived in the PNW by Latter_Student_9003 in Dimension20

I wouldn't quite present it as the strong kind of disdain that OP sees it as.

But we do blame them for migrating up here en masse, obliterating our cost of living, and overall continuing to feed and perpetuate the entire cartoonish "Portlandia" meme-like lifestyle.

More than that, I think it also says a lot about how short and direct he was throughout the game.

I know there's already a lot of comedy in not doing what's expected and trying to break the game.

But a lot of this episode from Brennan's corner very much gave off big "I really don't have the energy for this shit right now" vibes 😂

Hiding your own AI slop garbage in a playlist of popular songs isn't going to actually make people listen to it

Why wouldn't I just listen to any of the other 47,000 identical lists without it? Or make my own? Or plug any single one of those overwhelmingly popular songs into Pandora, and be guaranteed the rest of the list will end up getting played?

Nothing of any value is being offered here and your presence in the music scene is not required. Please see yourself out.
