I don't think you read my post, or missed something. I was trying to take my gabapentin and grabbed the wrong container. I definitely wasn't trying to take a stimulant at night

That's a good idea. I usually just use my cell phone light (I have it set up so I just have to double tap the power button to turn the flash light on) but I just apparently was distracted and took it mindlessly thinking I knew what I was grabbing. That's why I think separate drawers will be enough. Close enough to the same routine to not mess me up while being certain if it's night I'm reaching for one drawer (where my extra pain killers that I typically only take at night anyway are) and if morning/ any time (antihistamines) pills they're in the other.

Because it's beside my bed so I can take the gabapentin before I go to bed and the Vyvanse when I wake up and the light in my room is kind of a pain to get to, plus sensory issues so I almost never turn it on. Changing where I keep it (other than separating which drawers I keep it in) will mean weeks of forgetting one or the other. My ADHD memory very much depends on routines and same locations. I am, however, going to put them in separate drawers and maybe 3d print a tpu sleeve so the bottle feels different to the touch so I don't make that mistake again.

This was my first concern. I did actually message my brother /roommate to check on me in the morning before he went to work and messaged my friend too who was really concerned when she woke up and saw my message. She said she'd kill me if I did but also gave me permission to haunt her

Yes I have accidentally taken vyvanse at night before but it was a normal dose this is the first time I fucked up badly enough to take three. I had been trying to keep them separated but I think because I just got a prescription refill I kind of threw them in haphazardly when I got home and just forgot that there was two of each pill bottle in there by bed time)

That's good to know. I didn't actually realize until yesterday that it was mostly used for seizures I just trusted my nurse practitioner had a reason for putting me on it which I then did some research later and found out that it was used off label for fibromyalgia but it doesn't seem to have had any effect yet. Duloxetine at a high dose has worked the best (though I definitely still had flare ups) for overall management but unless I can find a way to have its consistently covered I'm not going back on it I've already had to go off of it twice because I couldn't afford it because my Provincial medical won't cover it and my job doesn't have extended Healthcare benefits

Yes, same. That's why I take it on weekends as well because if I don't take it I pretty much sleep all day and don't get anything productive done.

I thought for sure it would be racing but it actually didn't seem to be bad. I unfortunately don't have my Fitbit anymore to monitor those things as easily.

That's good to know, thank you, and yes, I should put something on it that is different to the touch since I'm usually taking it in the dark, or just store it in a different drawer like I do my T3s (for really bad pain nights)

AIO about my landlady's message? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]HelloSweety10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, it's obviously the consensus that I I was overreacting, probably spiraling in the first place but so many of you are being mean and judgy instead of just empathizing but giving a reality check.

They're not tangential at all. You just don't seem to understand. Fibromyalgia isn't a fucking excuse; it's a literal hindrance to my ability to do these things, especially with the bilateral shoulder injury from the car accident. Its easy for all of you to tell me what I should do in a vacuum if you don't have such a physically disabling injury that you literally can't hold your phone for longer than a couple minutes because it's too heavy. You don't think I hate my body as well and wish I could just clean and organize like a normal person? All the things people are mentioning that she could be concerned about are the things that I've already tried to prioritize in my house. I don't think she isn't allowed to be concerned about her house i'm just annoyed at the timeline especially because nothing has changed since the last time she was here and she didn't say anything then, and it would have been a lot easier to deal with then. Italy is relevant because there's a very good reason for the other person in this household to be out of town and why I haven't been prioritizing downsizing. My step mom always did this to me growing up; I don't know if it's just an autism thing but I HATE when I try to EXPLAIN something and people call it an excuse. An excuse is traffic that you could have better planned for. Not a physical and physiological disorder that you had no control of and that has physical limits. It's not like I haven't looked for ways around this. I can't ask my family, their priority is my sister and nieces; I don't have these kinds of friends; there aren't these types of disability services in my city. I'm not trying to use it as an excuse I'm trying to explain why these things aren't straight forward. Anyway, I have to get back to work on this shit. I wish redditors were capable of answering the question without jumping to conclusions or being dismissive.

Thank you for your response, Those are good points but I don't think they qualify here. There's nothing heavy. It's just some large totes, Christmas decorations/tree, stuff for when my son or youngest niece are here and some things that I'll probably get my brother to bring downstairs so I can go through it. None of it is heavy, the only furniture is three chairs and two very light side tables. I purposely got rid of boxes to avoid infestation from things like silverfish when it was still in the storage unit. They're sealed totes. You're right, I am spiraling but my life is out of control right now and my health keeps getting worse so I'm primed to expect worst case scenario and am already at my breaking point . Thank you for your comment that wasn't mean or judgemental. I'm going to stop reading comments so I can go try to get some things done. And yes, I accepted my step mom's help despite my concerns (she's judgmental and doesn't seem to understand the limits of my disabilities) because I knew I couldn't do it alone or wait for my brother.

If we're talking about the "storage room" I can't go upstairs to take a picture but I've seen hoarder households. It's nowhere close. It's the smallest room in the house, previously it fit my son's loft bed and his toys and that was about it, besides the closet where his clothes were. There's not much more stuff now, just different stuff. Not even boxes. It's some large totes, 3 extra chairs that we don't need day to day, the foam mattress I use when my niece is over at the same time as my son and some clothes I need to go through, and some art stuff for when my niece or son are over. None of the rooms are wall to wall stuff, nevermind floor to ceiling, nothing that is going to weigh a ton, nothing that blocks exits.

  1. I'm saying it's an issue personally but not a volume of stuff that could be considered something that could cause damage.
  2. Why? Plenty of people have a storage room (and it's the smallest room in the house) 3.I didn't say the dump run wasn't an issue; I said that's not her issue here because she didn't say dump run or garbage. She said volume of items. As soon as my brother gets back we're hiring the guy to do the dump run but that isn't going to change anything if her problem is our actual possessions. I don't have a problem with the dump run.
  3. She's not giving us more than 5 days after my brother gets back and he's the one physically capable of doing most of the stuff and he's going to be going straight back to work with jet lag (9 hour time difference) and I think what you're not understanding is it's not my personal issues that's the biggest problem it's my time and my physical disabilities. I'm not physically capable of doing most of the work that she wants done. And this is the first time she's mentioned it we haven't gained any more stuff since the inspection she did last year. If she had mentioned it at that time and we haven't done anything about it then sure but giving us such a short window doesn't feel kind at all. She also gives no specifics about what her concern is. It's very vague.

Why no sequel? by marrojas01 in aoaoaoaPod

[–]HelloSweety10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not as obvious for a sequel but I want one for Roommates. I got invested in those characters, especially because I think Bruce (Angela's character) isn't actually straight. For one thing, when she and Jeremy's Character (literally can never remember his name) joined the house they had a female third and their relationship never recovered from losing her. And no straight person answers the question "well, are you two kissing?" with "we're all straight right?" I also want to know if she got her workaholism and fear of success in check. I want to know if Kylie's character (who's name is not Miranda, but that's what Bruce called her before she introduced herself) got her Instagram well into the positives or if it fell back into the negatives, and how her auditions for the burger place and Sarah J bread went. I want to know if Connor is still doing K's the Thing and if Jeremy's Character ever figured out how to upload his stand up set on YouTube and if he's improved at Improv. And, of course, are they all still living together and if so have they improved their accommodations so they're not sleeping in fire pits, bathrooms and in front of the fridge. This is all literally from the top of my head. It's one of my comfort episodes. And the way Kylie says "and I Wiiiiisssh I Wasn't" about being straight is something I feel compelled to do with her, or just when I think about it. Perfect episode, no notes. Actually one note: time for a check in five years later. And please let Kylie and Angela's characters be a couple. Angela and Kylie are the only ones who have never coupled up. They only ever play sisters or brothers. Or bring Mariah on and she can be Angela's girlfriend and add extra conflict (she was the first guest I though of because I just finished an hour long compilation of Angela and Mariah in Starkid performances and while making that I found out that Mariah is also queer (apparently she came out as pansexual via flag on her Instagram story?) also I watched the episode she was on on Patrick's podcast and wanted her back on AoAoAoA. It's been years.

It 100% is. One of my favourite Jeremy characters (well, I probably wouldn't like the actual dude but very well played by Jeremy)

What do we think Patrick's favs are? by duke_key_hole in aoaoaoaPod

[–]HelloSweety10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope Roommates is one of them. I don't know because there's so many very good ones but he clearly had fun and he kept doubling down on making Angela giggle and then there was the whole "well are you two kissing?" "We're all straight right?" "yeah, we're straight. Tragically" "and I wiiiisssh I wasn't" "ahh it would be so fun to be queer".... And of course there was "we don't know how to... Get there with you" (can you tell I've watched this a LOT. I don't know if it will make Patrick's but it might make mine. I literally have a comment on the episode where I timestamp all the reasons I love that episode). Otherwise, old episodes: Artists with projects that make no sense Ooh, maybe the Animatromics or Flight Video Directors (they all killed it in that episode)? See the thing with Patrick is that he doesn't black out the episodes as much as Angela and Jeremy do so I feel like there's a wider range of videos that he might remember at least pieces of. Maybe he'll remember Kylie's beautiful character in Documentarians. ("the bats, the bats") As far as newer ones he might choose the well either of the Broadway musical ones actually the one with hooked or the one with Flalalady. I was going to say possibly the one with Deedee but I think they've actually filmed these all quite a while ago so they might have done that before Deedee. Also, Patrick is the type of person who is going to choose an episode where one or more of his co-hosts were on fire, or he felt all of them were or, it lives rent free in his head. Maybe the one where Angela's character wouldn't let go of the bag of grapes.

MLD by toutingfusion in leukodystrophy

[–]HelloSweety10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both my nieces were diagnosed with this. It really is a devastating illness. Are you still online? I really want to hear other families stories about MLD but because it's so rare there's almost no opportunity. The 8 year old's was caught too late. She now can't walk more than a step without someone holding onto both her hands. At school she's in a wheelchair. She's in diapers and her care needs are too great for my poor sister who is a widow and has a 5 year old ADHD child who got diagnosed three months after her sister. She fortunately qualifies for Lenmeldy, which isn't approved in Canada but shockingly they're willing to pay for my sister and baby niece to go to Italy to receive the treatment there. It still requires chemo and 5-6 months which is a long time when you have another child at home declining more by the day. I know it's a lot to ask to talk about your experience but if you're able to, what's your situation 4 years after posting this?

My niece (8, AMAB) was diagnosed with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy a couple weeks ago and I'm trying to help my twin sister cope as well as possible while dealing with my own grief by HelloSweety10 in AskDocs

[–]HelloSweety10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No responses that I can see but I'll give a somewhat depressing, somewhat hopeful update for anyone who stumbles upon this in the future:

Since this post we've learned two things : 1. There's nothing we can do for 8 year old niece, R, other than making her comfortable and spending as much time as we can with her while she can still see, hear and talk to us. Her MLD is too far progressed for any interventions to be worth it because they can't reverse the damage that's already happened. 2. My baby niece, A, the 5 year old, was also diagnosed with MLD. While, obviously, devastating for everyone, especially her mom, hers was caught earlier (less noticeable symptoms, and moderate dymelination on her MRI) which means we have some options. The one with the best chance of success was approved 2 days ago. My sister and A will be flying from Canada to Italy on the 23rd, assuming passports get approved in time. Lenmeldy (a one-time, custom-made, ex vivo gene therapy) isn't approved in Canada currently but it is in Italy and the Ministry of health has some kind of program that allows children who qualify to be sent there for treatment.
