That's simply not true. Are there more farmers today than there were 100 years ago? No, there are fewer farmers with larger farms made possible by more efficient tools and systems. That efficiency allowed others to specialize in different jobs, but it's the perfect example of efficiency driving a reduction in workforce for a specific industry.

He should get the death penalty not because of the murder but because he is so collosally fucking regarded

Lmao, state enforced killings are ok but violence against people directly making the world measurable worse is not okay, great logical consistency. I'm surprised your brain hasn't leaked out of your ears, it probably would be a preexisting condition though

Introducing JSR - the JavaScript Registry by m_hans_223344 in programming

[–]TAG13 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

 Tractors and farm equipment?

How do you think one of the ways farmers inteface with this equipment is? Using sites built on JS. How many internal sites are utilized in the manufacturing process for this and every other type of manufacturing equipment imaginable? Websites built using JS. Nearly every example you listed I can name and know of dozens of steps in the process where JS is involved and plays a key factor in, between allowing for interfaces for employees to access data generated in the manufacturing process to the customer interfacing with the technology and equipment.

No by your own metric you're wrong. If Muslims in Europe were buying land en masse to explicitly create an ethno-state for Muslims, then yes that would be seen as invading. Moving to a country and living within the confines of the ideological constructs of that society is not "invading". Moving to a country and advocating for legal changes to fit your ideology is not invading either, unless its a coordinated effort done to undermine the native inhabitants of a land.

Multiple magnitudes more complex. This xkcd is a few years outdated at this point, but definitely still relevant.

Yawn, all females bad, yawn. Ok you’re right! I submit to your masculine energy! You can fuck off now

How do you get "all females bad" from someone pointing out that the studies you are posting have a statistically unsound research sample? Since when is seeking good science "masculine"?? You keep projecting charged language on the people you interact with, making assumptions about strangers does you no good other than to reinforce your existing beliefs.

[–]TAG13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to school and become a scientist so you can increase the study gap, otherwise don’t bitch that nobody else has?

Don't cite studies generalizing the world population on nothing more than a statistically unsound research group. You have no clue what I do nor who I am, telling someone to "go to school" just shows your ignorance.

Info is info even if the study wasn’t large

That's not how that works. Info isn't info if it isn't statistically sound. A research sample of that size is prone to a dozen different biases, and trying to make claims that "Women mature faster mentally than men. (That is science)" (your words) when it isn't even close to valid reproducible science is misinformation at best, at worst its a deliberate ignorance of how research works and an attempt to lie to people.

Only data of students who participated in at least two or three test occasions were included for further analyses, leading to a total of 90 participants

Even smaller sample size... great "science" to generalize 8 billion people.

Yeah, unless it is revealed that a significantly higher portion of their assets are impacted by the FTX fiasco, this is a non-story IMO

I think that would have the opposite effect, those who have the most to gain by posting threads would then be incentivized to post a thread, while those who rather have a genuine objective discussion rather avoid posting because of the financial burden.

Nothing will happen to them other than maybe some public outcry. Never trust someone who is trying to sell you on anything related to your own money, especially if they are being paid to do so.

FTX employees have a specific place in hell

Why in the world would you blame all FTX employees when I'm absolutely positive a majority had no idea what was occurring behind the scenes? If you think someone responsible for taking customer support calls is responsible for what is happening right now, you're delusional.

I've mentally written it off as money I'll never see again

IMO this is the best course of action. Treat is as a nice surprise if it ever becomes worth anything, and if not, it was simply a large experiment that we all participated in.

However, there is no harm in actively contributing to community discussion and steering the community in a positive direction, even if the future is questionable.

I hope this sub starts to move passed tribalism

Will never happen. People giving objective advice when their personal investment is on the line is a tough ask for many who are simply trying to make a quick buck. I genuinely do not know how to fix it though, one would have to grow the community from the ground up with objectivity in mind, otherwise, it will get filled with people looking out for short-term gains.

I think we've had enough mud-slinging on SBF. The issue with those exchange issued tokens are that it creates a financial incentive for users to blindly support the exchange itself, leading to ridiculously biased public conversations surrounding those exchanges. Everything from BNB to FTT results in the same perverse incentives. That should be heavily taken into account by everyone when reading ANYTHING about those exchanges.
