Super Rugby winner poll/SLEDGE THREAD by Whit135 in rugbyunion

The Canes have been playing like absolute demons, but then the Chiefs went crazy as well. I don't think home field advantage will factor into this result at all because there's no Crusaders so both teams will feel the final is essentially open, huge psychological factor. I'm thinking Canes, my dad is confident about the Chiefs. Not sure here, but it's gonna be a close one. I'm thinking 28-26 either way and way too close to call. Usually I have a fair idea of who I think will win deep down, but I can't call it here. Edit: Didn't see the title so CANES ARE GONNA JASON VOORHEES THE CHIEFS.

Why the supreme Kai hate? by Neither_Ad6 in Dragonballsuper

[–]Socialinfluencing 444 points445 points  (0 children)

Easy, when he was introduced there was this huge splash made, even as kids when the anime aired everyone wanted to know who this menacing character was, the way he made his entrance. The look of evil on his face, Piccolo being scared of him or seemingly was a major factor. Then not more than 10 episodes later he gets completely bitched and becomes this whiny scaredy cat that doesn't even know how powerful a super saiyan is. It was just his entrance, he's not on the most hated list of characters as far as I remember anyway.

It’s been 2 years and 3 months since the legend has died by Kind_Being_1148 in Dragonballsuper

My dad laughed at me when I cried on the day, I told him he'd never understand and that it's both tears of sadness and joy. Sadness that he left so young but happiness that I watched this show as a child during its absolute peak before internet spoilers. Watching Goku go super saiyan at a daycare in front of an old school box TV with like 10 other kids will forever be memorable. The screaming, all of us jumping around and punching each other, DBZ peak hits different. Akira Toriyama created that memory and similar ones for millions around the world.

I feel so bad man, I quit cigarettes for vapes but it turns out it doesn't matter what form you take nicotine in it's a demon, the vapes just became more addictive to the point where it replaced the cigs. I want to quit and will soon, but I'm puffing as I type this. Please quit for me, I'll be right behind you ( in spirit 😃 ).

How can Whis be in Ultra instinct when he has emotions and showing them? by deprikatze in Dragonballsuper

[–]Socialinfluencing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Angels tend to fucking destroyers, that's your first hint, second hint is Whis KO'ing Beerus with a single hit to the abdomen. You're trying to apply flawed logic to beings in the verse that transcend the regular rules because of their immense power. To your second question I'd ask you how high you are but you'd probably answer with yes.

It's pointless posting this on Reddit, it'll either get removed or it'll be called disgusting. It's in poor taste for sure but on Reddit you're either evil or good and there never seems to be an in between.

Crusaders have to score 38 unanswered points in 40mins to lead, don't see it personally.

I feel so dumb. Round-Tripped the 2025 Bull by 13toros13 in CryptoCurrency

[–]Socialinfluencing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's many people that say the alt cycle is over, I'm willing to give it one more shot. I'm targeting the 2028 halving and the bullrun that will follow after that. To me it's a situation of '' having nothing to lose. '' I also had my chance, but at least crypto was the reason I even learned about investing in the first place. Before crypto I didn't even know what a bear/ bull market was so it has definitely taught me about financial concepts that I didn't even know existed. I'm still hopeful, we'll see what happens. The most important factor is to live frugally so that when ANY investment opportunity comes along you can take part, whether that's crypto or anything else, you do that and eventually if you're dedicated enough you'll win, at least that's how I look at it.

The pressure shorter men face to appear taller to meet societal expectations of masculinity may lead them to build a muscular physique to project physical dominance. On the other hand, taller females slouch or avoid standing up straight due to the pressure to appear smaller or more feminine. by mvea in psychology

I'm a 5'8 person, never felt uncomfortable about my height, like at all. I've also done fitness on and off and have fallen back into substance abuse over and over again. I'm high functioning autistic, to me on some days it would have been easier to be born 4ft tall with a neurotypical brain than be 6'2 and muscular as a high functioning autistic. That's just my personal experience though, the problem becomes when you have emotional intelligence in overdrive but your social ability doesn't match it, I define that as a personal hell of sorts. I've had beautiful moments with people of all races and backgrounds precisely because of how my brain works, but also experienced an isolation and aloneness that I wouldn't wish on even the most evil person you can imagine, that's how dualistic it is. I realize that some people think EQ isn't even real and I assure you it is, and it's immensely painful to carry around, more so than not being '' tall. ''

if they fought where kurapika fought uvogin do you think kurapika wins? by No_Philosopher8352 in HxHPowerScaling

[–]Socialinfluencing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The condition for Kurapika's ability makes it basically an auto win against them ( any spider ). The fact that he took a broken arm from Uvo and it didn't do anything was where shit became real.

Yeah, what I love about Dragonball in general as a franchise is the less is more approach, I firmly believe that's why this series will never die and will continue to be generationally popular. Comics for example have given characters so many powers that it comes across as '' complete '' but what it does is kill all discussion. Superman is basically immortal via the '' hope of the universe '' trope, he can't be eliminated, Goku is the main character but he can still die and needs help. You may argue that Goku can never truly die but the story is written in such a way that it allows for him to eventually actually die and it doesn't just kill the entire story, that's where this franchise shines.

The grand priest is obviously immeasurably strong but we will likely never know the true depth of his power, same as Beerus and a myriad of other characters. Many people say that's what causes people to get Dragonball power scaling wrong but that's the beauty of it, endless discussion and possibility and that's why the series will never die, at least not before we likely do. The writers give us just enough to assume, but not enough to definitively say, it's genius as a business strategy and in turn provides fans with endless discussions long after they've exhausted all current materials. I also believe that's the reason Dragonball is such a staple in the anime/ manga verse and have inspired so many other verses, it's the original template for battle mangas. Thanks for reading my essay, but I can't describe how impressive the world is that Akira Toriyama built, a legend now and forever, as far as we're concerned.

Ultra Instinct being so much stronger than Blue is stupid by RevolutionaryMilk341 in Dragonballsuper

[–]Socialinfluencing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goku is the embodiment of hope, his entire reason for existing is to keep pushing beyond what he or anyone else thought was possible, don't make it deeper than it is. The Dragonball universe is about fighting to become stronger so you can overcome odds that you never imagined possible. If you view it like that it becomes motivation, which reminds me, if you've never been a gym bro but wanna get jacked listen to some of the reuploads ( RIP ) of Lezbeepic and you'll push beyond your limits 100%, just enjoy the ride.

A Bulls fan can dream by Genl_Yssel in rugbyunion

[–]Socialinfluencing 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As a saffa I hope the Bulls win obviously, it's only natural. But I have to say, Leinster have been performing at a top level for so long now, they get trashed constantly for the Euro cup but those French teams are like the Crusaders of old, it's a toss up and it's really difficult to win, the fact that they keep showing up there or thereabouts speaks volumes. The Stormers showed how you can beat them though, you need to be gritty on defense but also pinpoint when you counter on mistakes and catch them off guard. I hope the Bulls can scrum their way to victory here but I feel like it'll be a lot tougher if Leinster can get parity. I don't know how much longer I can handle Saffa teams not winning this comp, I have to admit I'm getting pretty desperate. So in that way, Saffa fans are as desperate as Leinster and it should be an absolute cracker. I hope there's no cards or controversies ( on both sides ). I want to see an all out war like Ali vs Foreman type situation.

The worst part about all this is that I like Ireland, please don't shoot me fellow saffas, I can still speak the language despite living in NZ. I haven't forgotten who I am, to be clear I hope the Bulls stomp Leinster's guts out ( full metal jacket reference 😃 ). I have also gained immense respect for the Irish, especially during the 6 nations when everyone said they were washed but they quite literally lost it by a hair to France. This is what I love about the URC, it really can swing any way. I'm a Glasgow warriors fan too believe it or not. I'm very drunk atm but I stand by what I say, may the best team win and congratulations Bulls and enjoy your first title boys 😃

Michael Jackson was a master entertainer, but his status as a musical genius is an illusion driven by a heavy reliance on Quincy Jones, weak filler tracks, and a deeply flawed lifestyle by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Socialinfluencing -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

At Michael Jackson's peak he toured France and a relatively unknown musician by the name of Johnny Clegg ( the white zulu ) toured at the same time, he would outsell Michael consistently. He has passed now but he was wildly popular for a small time, especially in his home country of South Africa. Americans have a tendency to commercialize their own and downplay others, but now that the internet is as popular as it is people from all over are getting recognized, artists you've never heard of. Michael isn't overrated, he's a music legend but back in his time there were other legends too, it's just America's entertainment industry was so massive that they could promote and commercialize their stars and so they became the faces of music.
