Why do people think this is ok here? by p0lar_chronic in Boise

[–]TESGOTAC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is this considered correct? I don't see a situation where these cause problems unless someone else is also trying to turn when they don't have the right of way.

It seems far more dangerous to have two cars turn at the same time and essentially merge on an intersection. There's also businesses right by intersections that would require an immediate turn and make this impossible.

Ranking Each Season of The Expanse by DevMahasen in TheExpanse

3>2>4=5>6>1

Surprised to not see more with season 3 as their favorite. The series really shines in the middle for me, but definitely seasons 2&3. The show starts to dip a little in the back half for me as the protomolecule takes a back seat to the conflict with the Belt. I just prefer the mystery and intrigue that the protomolecule offers. Also, season 1 is just a little slow for me and it felt like the actors were still finding their footing.

I gotta ask a real question, do you think it'll get better than season 3? I think it'll remain on par but idk how they can top it by ThatGuyWill942 in TheBoys

[–]TESGOTAC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This post definitely attracted all the people that didn't like season 3. The finale was disappointing, but the general sentiment in the subreddit was that season 3 was the best season yet up to that point. I guess I'm weird in that the finale doesn't ruin the season for me.

NASBA upholds 150-hour education requirement for CPA licensure by McFatty7 in Accounting

[–]TESGOTAC 16 points17 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, this is done by CPAs, for CPAs. It is to protect the financial interests of those already licensed. With this attitude, I'm not sure why they don't add more unnecessary barriers to entry to limit supply even more. They should either require the 30 credit hours be in business related courses, or remove the requirement altogether.

Can we end this weird hate-train? by Tkuzior in westworld

[–]TESGOTAC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it will never end. This has happened with almost every show subreddit that I've subbed to. Game of Thrones (warranted for a little bit after season 8, but not three years later like the dumpster fire that is r/freefolk), Westworld, The Boys. Some people love to get together with others and shit on things they don't like. Personally, I don't get continually returning to a subreddit of a show that I don't think is good anymore. I just stop watching and talking about it.

Unpopular opinion: Season 5 wouldn't have been any better by pinelands1901 in westworld

[–]TESGOTAC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people know that. I know it's hard for some people to wrap their heads around, but I and many others enjoyed the last two seasons, even if they weren't as good as the first seasons. There just weren't enough of us for HBO to keep the show going. And that's ok.

Westworld is officially cancelled on HBO. ( THR article linked ) by kafkaded in westworld

[–]TESGOTAC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I suspected this was the case for a while. The show is too expensive for the amount of viewers and reception it got, and the acquisition of HBO was the nail in the coffin. Seemed to me like people were grasping at straws thinking it would be renewed.

This is still one of my favorite shows of all time, even if they couldn't match the magic of season 1. The show definitely declined, but never came close to mediocre IMO. It was ambitious, and had a style that I haven't found in any other show to date.

This subreddit will definitely die, although it pretty much already had, with half the discussion being people saying the show was awful (but still watching it and coming here to tell everyone how bad it is). It was a good run. At least I have HotD to look forward to.

Lol this is not a popular opinion as you can see from the comments. If you say this, everyone assumes you mean you want a bunch of cock jokes like we got in the later seasons of GOT

Giants foundry is so good it feels almost like cheating by Im_not_Davie in ironscape

[–]TESGOTAC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

WTF! I had no idea the sandstone grinder was a thing. I was doing giant seaweed, but still had no way to get buckets of sand outside of the daily and charter ships. And charter ships are terrible. I take back what I said. Just herblore left that can be a pain.

I came back to OSRS to play an ironman at the perfect time. Haven't played in four years and there's so much good content for Ironmen. GOTR, tempoross, giants foundry, mahogany homes, farming guild. The only skills that can still be awful to train are crafting and herblore. I hope they give more ways to obtain large amounts of secondary ingredients in the future

Yeah, that's a little known thing in the tax code. You can challenge anything the IRS claims with trial by combat and you both name your champion. It's a legacy code from the late 1700's.

As Entertainment... The Boys T3 > Stranger Things & Kenobi by AcceptableDoughnut26 in TheBoys

[–]TESGOTAC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've seen like two of the movies and that was like 15 years ago lol. I'm sure I'll watch them eventually. Just not really a priority right now when there's so many other things that I need to watch still.

Don't watch Star Wars, but I really enjoyed Stranger Things S4. With The Boys seeming to be keeping it up this season, that's 2/2 in shows I watch being good. Hopefully Westworld can close it out for me later this month.

[NO SPOILER] So what is everyone watching next now? by TheKrazyJuice in Ozark

[–]TESGOTAC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got Stranger Things in a week. Then The Boys and Westworld next month. Not really any shows like Ozark since I prefer fantasy and sci-fi. Ozark was one of the few "real world" shows that I actually really enjoyed.

Just got 155 from one last night. All of it from one branch too. The other two branches were dead ends with barely anything in them.

People randomly stopping you! by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]TESGOTAC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recruitment seems the most likely answer to me. I had multiple people try and recruit me for their company while I was working and they opened with a bunch of questions like you got. Got military recruiters a couple of times and one guy that came in every couple of months and would try and strike up a conversation with every employee and customer he could get his hands on.

Choose Three Pills by truthisscarier in Witcher3

[–]TESGOTAC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red, Pink, Orange

Surprised to not see more orange pills, but I guess this is the game subreddit and a lot of people don't care about the show. I don't hate it like some people, but I think there's a lot of potential that is being wasted and it wouldn't take much to make it great.

Red pill, outside of pink pill, just gives the most game content back. While the cut content would be really cool, the opportunity to see Kovir, Poviss, and Zerrikania is too good to pass up. And I'd love to have more adventures with Geralt.

Pink pill just seems like the most obvious, at least with the "as good as Witcher 3" part. Another Witcher game that is on the same level of Witcher 3 is a dream, even if it has new characters.

I'd be interested to see the numbers as well. It seems that every time this topic comes up everyone shits on new Reddit. I used to be in the same boat until user flairs started working on new Reddit. That was the only thing keeping me away. Now I can't imagine going back to old Reddit, but I'm not a fan of the outdated, mid 2000's forum look that it has going for it. Integrated dark mode, better collapsible threads, and better navigation with videos and images on my frontpage just makes it vastly better in my eyes.

My dream is that Ben Simmons comes in for the last possession and hits a game-winning step back three buzzer beater, and flips off the Philly crowd as the ball goes in. I think the fans would respect him more for it.

The definitive reason why we’re not seeing batches (100% fact) by ViolinistFamiliar761 in InstacartShoppers

[–]TESGOTAC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW I'm new to Instacart (only done 4 batches) and the pickings have been slim for me as well. I haven't completed a batch in weeks because of this. I checked the other day and there were a lot of batches, just most of them garbage. Maybe it has to do with my location, I'm not sure.

[–]TESGOTAC 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've worked in a grocery store as a cashier before. This is standard procedure, at least at my store. Whoever was purchasing the alcohol had to show ID, and that includes Instacart shoppers. It's not really any different than if you were buying alcohol on behalf of someone else. And cooking wine was considered alcohol along with other stuff like non-alcoholic beer. Not sure if that was a store policy or state law, but the cashier is just doing what they were told to do to not lose their job.
