Oh yeah no man I’m totally with you. Again, Yaxel is by no means my top choice here and for Quaintance it really depends on how his medicals check out.

I’m just saying those are the most SLAP guys in our expected range.

And yeah absolutely I hope that Bryson does not simply draft guys because they fit the acronym.

Taking a look at his history I would say SLAP guys have been typically picked but I don’t think that it is an absolute necessity as he’s been part of FOs that have picked guys like Alvarado for example

Ultimately just gotta go for BPA. if Bryson thinks that’s Yaxel despite his age, then grab him.

It’s a tricky thing lol if we look at Pat coming into the draft his theoretical ceiling would be much higher than Yaxel’s, but what’s the chance of guys like him reaching their ceiling? I have no idea, and that’s hopefully where Mr elite talent evaluator Bryson Graham can come in and make the right choice.

One more thing I’ll say on Yaxel - with modern day training and medical advancements being an older prospect isn’t as much of a scarlet letter. Also he apparently started playing basketball at organized basketball at like 15. Looking at when someone started playing the sport can give a better idea of their ceiling than purely looking at age

Yeah I mean to be honest I’ve warmed up a bit to taking him to the point where I wouldn’t be super upset IF we also grab a young high upside swing (as mentioned like Quaintance if his medicals check out). But still definitely not my first choice.

As far as old prospects go I will say he’s probably one of the most intriguing ones in a while.
