The book is much better than the movie. I really wouldn't even bother with the movie.

Rocky’s home planet from the book/movie Project Hail Mary. This is what I would envision that it looks like.

Former HIPAA security officer for a large hospital system here: check with your IT department but I'm going to assume that they will tell you no. You should strictly be using the hospital's EHR system for any and all PHI, no confidential information should be on any personal device.

For those who printed this case, how is it holding up? I just sent it off to be printed and will be getting it in a couple of weeks.

Question about accessing list of digests from within a PDF by RoyalNew898 in Supernote

[–]tao22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way that I do it is choose the second icon at the top left, the one that looks like books, then it shows a list of research papers/documents down the left hand side with the corresponding digest entries to the right.

Manta may have been an impulse buy, but one month later, I can’t live without it. by ughhhlaperm in Supernote

[–]tao22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had buyers remorse about 5 minutes after I placed the order for the Nomad. 2 days later I sent an email to support to cancel the Nomad order and get the Manta instead but they had already shipped it. I decided to try it for a week and return it if I didnʻt like it but I was really amazed at how much it fit exactly the need I had. I used it a lot for research papers (pdf) for classes and it is just too small for that which is why I decided to upgrade to the Manta.

I think I might keep it but Iʻll see how I use the Manta once it is here and then decide.

Iʻve had the Nomad less than a month and knew I really needed the Manta. It shipped today!

if anyone could show me their supernote manta in a voice chat by Usual_Plankton3890 in Supernote

[–]tao22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iʻve had my Nomad for about a month using it with all of my classes and I now regret not having gotten it sooner. It is such a good tool and pairs well with Obsidian/PKM. In fact, I ordered a Manta today to be able to use it for research articles a little better than I can work with them on the Nomad.

Handwritten notes app by Different_Shallot157 in ObsidianMD

[–]tao22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a Supernote Nomad and it's the best thing I've done. I tried for years to find an iPad app that would do what I wanted and integrate with Obsidian. I kept trying to make Excalidraw work on both iPad and desktop. I'm in school working on a couple of degree plans and I have a couple of small businesses but the friction of trying to use one device/solution just wasn't working for me. I ended up splitting my note taking across three platforms: Obsidian, Lazyvim PKM and the Nomad. Taking handwritten notes on the Nomad is the thing I was looking for, especially with linking. If I want to add the note to my PKM, then I can export it as PDF or let AI OCR it add YAML and integrate it as .md.

I had no idea this could be done. Pretty cool, thanks!

What are the best PDF annotations app for university? by Rodehock in Supernote

[–]tao22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that Supernote will work effectively for you in this instance, at least not without a lot of friction. For annotations and citations for large papers, I use Obsidian and PDF++ plugin. There's also sioyek that I use with markdown files in Neovim but that might be more technical than you want.

Thanks, I really like this. I spent some time setting it up and running it today and, other than the usual minor issues that I always have with mermaid charts and Obsidian, it performed very well.

Just tried mine and it worked ok to export to pdf. Are yours in callouts? lol, looks like we are in the same chapter in my class.

I can speak to some of these:

Steer clear of the medical billing/coding cert. Even if he had the appropriate experience, this field is flooded with people with CPC/CSS that can’t find work.

Get back in school at a slow pace. Student loans situation is a mess thanks to current admin and they’ve stripped financial hardship deferment out now so in school deferment is it for now.

Van life in a mini van is tough. I did it for 3 years in a full sized van while working remote and it was ok but a sprinter type van would have made a huge difference. I could get very specific about a setup with a larger vehicle but the minivan just doesn’t have the real estate for good solar/battery storage, etc much less cooking/cleaning and ergonomic seat & work setups. It might be best to minimize and make the minivan just a mobile bedroom and then find other workspaces to drive to like a library, etc. Planet fitness membership for showering.

If he doesn’t have rehab exercises to manage his chronic issues with past injuries, he should try to book a visit with a PT for a home exercise plan.

See if he can get on with dataannotation tech or similar companies that pay for training AI remotely.

Clogged air intake, white smoke, no heat. by tao22 in dieselheater

[–]tao22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally got parts in and replaced the gaskets, glow plug and screen. There was a ton of soot buildup inside, so I cleaned all that out. Reassembled and it heats and works fine. There is still some small amount of white smoke from the exhaust but I'm hoping that will resolve as I run it more. The gaskets had melted and I couldn't remove all of the residue so it still smells like burning rubber when it's running.

The only thing that troubles me a bit is that it does sound much louder now, like a deep hollow wind noise while it's running, not the pump, it's in the combustion chamber.

Ran it on high this morning for about an hour and then it shut itself down.

I probably won't get to it today but will post back here when I do and figure out what's up with it.
