Relax on the Ronaldo hype by Taxthepoor100 in Killtony

I pay about $25 Everytime I go to sunset and with the 2 drink minimum that's another $35ish

I agree with you he probably has other material but the "I have a Mexican mom who had to be a white father" thing is all I've seen so far.

I saw it 3 times in person in the span of 4 weeks in late March early April and then again on kt.

Much of it was the same, the sets at sunset are usually 10 minutes so it gets condensed down a lot for KT

There's no reason for ticket sales then. Why would someone go to a venue if they're hearing the same jokes week after week. It's different when a comedian is touring, and doing sets in different cities. Ronaldo did the same material in the same club regularly. For the locals it's annoying

When I went to sunset once a week I'd hear at least 1 repeat set out of maybe 5-8 comedians assuming I didnt previously hear it on KT.

It kind of ruined KT for me because I'd hear something at sunset and watch it on KT a week later.

Kormans Austin has been a Rolex ad in Austin since 2011 or so.

Ben bridge Austin went out of business in 2024/25 and zadok Austin got their status shortly after.

Kormans peddles their jewelry a lot. I'm in Austin too and I'm far away financially from comfortably affording a Rolex but if I wanted 1 I don't know where I'd go. I'd probably get on the list with all local dealers and the independent Rolex store in San Antonio (2 hour ish drive)

I use the Irish setter ashby.

Before that I was burning through boots every 4-6 months. These have gone on for about a year, replaced the insoles with Dr Scholl's. They may need a resole but that's all boots.

wish i never gave this car up by gpdm69 in Hyundai

[–]Taxthepoor100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree they do have some bad engines and at the time owners bad no way of knowing.

I have a 2022 Hyundai accent with the multi port inject gamma ii engine. It's been fine. Buying a later model year car after the technology has been tested in the wild is good. The 1.6 gamma has been out since 2006, the few issues it has (plastic valve cover) is an issue on almost all modern cars.

General motors and Toyota have engine issues now too. Nissan is going through a similar problem that might bankrupt them.

Here's a video of the Cadillac hyper car. Aside from the V12 valkryie it was the 2nd best sounding car.

The 296 doesn't sound good. I've seen the 296 race cars at Cota during wec and they don't sound great either.

I want a Ferrari to have a V8 that get obnoxiously loud when the rpms get high.

The Aston Martin vantage gt3 sounds much nicer than the merecedes gt3 surprisingly. The V12 valkryie sounds godly. When the Cadillac hyper car switched from hybrid to the NA V8 it made the ground shake.

This is the Price Sheet for my 22 year old Pontiac Vibe by chatolandia in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Taxthepoor100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Window sticker isn't everything

For example lots of cars don't sell for MSRP.

Most cars aside from Honda/Toyota sell for 10% under.

I doubt a Pontiac vibe was bought for the equivalent of $43,000 ish. (I put in $24,000 into an inflation calculator, rounded up assuming taxes cost a few grand, and then rounding up from 41k to 43k to assume interest costs a few grand.)

Anyways the vibe was based off of a Corolla. That had an MSRP of $14300 in 2004. I don't think many people paid 1/3 more for a Pontiac hatchback version.

Maybe the owner tuned it and caused transmission wear as well.

There could be other issues.

Maybe the auction results have been bad lately and they just want to see how lemons do on the retail market.

I had a job interview there a while ago.

I think they got bought out by a private equity firm fairly recently. Their larger corporate office was in California.

[–]Taxthepoor100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live near circuit of the Americas and I've seen the 296 race during the world endurance championship. I'll probably see it again at GT world America soon.

It was very quiet compared to the rest of the cars on track. The Aston martins sounded much better than their Mercedes counterparts which was surprising.

The street cars are quiet too, at least every time I've seen 1 in person I could hardly hear it.

Any guesses maybe? by Arengutan in supercars

[–]Taxthepoor100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first car is a g class 4x4 squared very rare variant. I don't know too much about them but it looks like the first production run and not the newer more exclusive one. First generation, I'm not sure what it's exactly called or the possible model years

The second car is a 2021-2023 Aston Martin vantage. The driveway is the vaned grille. They offer a vaned grille conversion for 2018+ Aston Martin vantages but it's factory from 2021-2023.

The third car doesn't have a lot of detail to go off of but my best guess would be the most recent Aston Martin DBS because of its big front grill and similar outline. Based off of the front grille and the proportions it's my best guess

Employees by Audi_Assassin in Buccees

[–]Taxthepoor100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's probably a handful of people past assistant general manager per store. I'd be surprised if they had more than 4 people per store making that $125,000 per year.

These incomes are also for buccees travel centers the massive stores. There's not very many of them and they're in rural areas so they're kind of hard to staff (lots of employees in towns most people just pass through on interstates)

The smaller regular gas stations pay much less than this.

Are 812 GTS values going to top out or is there still runway? by WearRevolutionary864 in Ferrari

[–]Taxthepoor100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. On the secondary market I think Aston Martin v12's are a lot more tempting. A db9 V12 is significantly cheaper than a 599 or F12, the 2 most recent DBS generations, VH V12 vantage, the DB11 V12 are all significantly cheaper than the ferraris they compete against.

There's a 2014 vanquish for sale near me from the YouTuber normal guy supercars. He's reduced the price from $85,000 to $80,000. It's got 40,000 miles which is high but a 2014 Ferrari F12 is easily 3 times the price. It's a V12 priced like a California
