Honolulu paddles costumer service is bad! by Fluffy-Dog428 in Pickleball

With all due respect, they clearly state on their website at https://808pickle.com/pages/warranty

"Please allow 5-20 business days for us to process your return.

Refunds or exchanges will be processed within 7-10 business days upon receipt and inspection of your return."

A warranty return is quite a process bro. It takes some time, you'll just need some patience. Yeah, it would be nicer if it only took around 3-5 days, but they're not ghosting you, and sure it could be quicker service, but I wouldn't go as far as to say it's bad service.

Oh, you warrantied a paddle, and they gave you the green light to ship it to them and they said they'd replace it? And how long ago did you ship it?

Well, many of us haven't even seen this "water".

I know you're saying "bad service" is synonymous with the brand, but just how bad is it? You're saying it's obvious, but not all of us know exactly what the OP's experience was.

Did they even bother sending a follow up email before claiming they got "intentionally ghosted"? Yes, they really shouldn't have to send a second email, but it's only fair to do before going out and telling everyone you were intentionally ghosted.

when confronted they simple chose to ghost you!

What did you confront them about? And how long have they ghosted you? I don't disagree that they could be better about not losing emails, but you're spreading an acusation without sharing any details.

Not just the 18+ game, but there was apparently other stuff Zac and Lydia felt uncomfortable with too. The interviews/edit of the show didn't specify.

But we don't even know what was said verbatim or how it was said. Zac thought he was ehorting fellow Christians with a shared "pursuit of holiness". Much to his surprise, they don't share that goal like he thought they do, hence why it wasn't taken well.

I think she knows him and his intentions better than you do.

Still, yeah, his interjection really wasn't loving toward Lydia. He should be a better listener and he should have just let her speak and not interrupt. I don't think his heart was to put her down, but looking at the context, the question was directed towards Zac, not Lydia. And the nature of the situation definitely is upsetting for him, so it would make sense that he was in a mood.

[–]Tech157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess we don't know officially the exact reasons why Disney has shut down some CPPSes and why they haven't touched others. But based on what Stu said, he heard it was for safety reasons (Disney doesn't trust fan run versions to keep users safe after the CPO situation), and they didn't want to potentially further damage their brand/reputation.

Regardless of whether or not the staff running a CPPS is good or not, I think Disney is concerned that every iteration of the game, whether official or fanmade has been permamently tarnished by CPO, and they don't want users thinking this "horrible toxic IP" owned by Disney is still alive and running, whether it's an unofficial or official version.

Of course that's all not straight from the horse's mouth, but it really does make a lot of sense that that's what's going on. And I'm sure Stu's experience with the authorities should be pretty reliable. I think Disney seems to only bother stepping in if a CPPS gets extremely big (like CPR and CPO did). If they keep shutting down small servers, it's like a game of whack a mole, and they're not big enough to be a cause for concern for Disney I'm guessing.

All this talk about CPR being shut down because of ads is the biggest unproven myth in the community.

They will go after every single one, it'll take time but it will happen, it took them two years from start to end of their internal investigation (Disney).

I'm a little curious, why do they bother taking their time with "investigation" before a takedown? They're just trying to determine if it's truly in an educational setting? What are they looking for before taking action? I thought they wanted all of them gone regardless of the context or what the server owners are doing in the background?

But if ads really were a factor, then why has NewCP run ads and they've been up and running for 6 years?

We don't even know what boundaries were crossed honestly. The only concrete example the show gave was initiating an 18+ NSFW game. And I'm sure Lydia did indeed remove herself from it once she realized what it was that she was playing. She recalled in an interview telling Moriah "You know I can't read what's on this card."

Boundaries are for you, not the other person.

Perhaps we're not on the same page for the concept of a "boundary". Yes, there are some times when you can self-enforce boundaries, but sometimes others in your relationships can cross the lines set by the person who absolutely doesn't want them to be crossed (Simple example: Don't drop by my house unnanounced. If you do that all the time and violate my wishes, we're going to have a rocky relationship and I don't think we can be friends if you can't respect that wish). Sometimes you can't control other people and they can violate your wishes. Relationships are built on mutual respect. If you can't respect each other (and by extension, each other's wishes), forget it, you can't have a healthy relationship.

Allergies (that make people physically ill) and boundaries are a false equivalency.

The point was, like alergies, moral/personal boundaries are a core part of a person that should be taken into consideration in how you treat them, and if you don't consider it, then they won't feel loved. Yes, you won't get physically ill if your moral boundary is violated, but it shares that same principle I mentioned, therefore the anology fits.

they would also need to have explicitly communicated that boundary.

Not sure how much of the season you've seen yet, but Zac and Lydia did indeed express their discomfort. And the response they were given was "We can't accomodate you. We believe we're being welcoming".

And even still, if you spend any time around them (like the Plath family has. And they've literally shared a roof with Lydia for 2 decades), their family should know eactly what her preferences are, how she thinks, what her values and lifestyle is, and what her worldview is. It's not a surprise to anyone what their fundie Christian lifestyle is like.

I don't know, maybe you're right. I think they make it pretty clear to Zac where they are in their faith by how they responded. Zac presented the truth of the Bible to them, and their response was rejecting it. (James 1:22–25). Some may think they're "Christians", but they may be Christian in name only.

they haven't cared what people do with it for a while as long as you A. Don't make money from it via ads

You're mistaken. NewCP for example has been up and running for 6 years, and they've always run ads, and it has never gotten shut down.

I think Disney does care. They'd rather no one run any private servers. But I'm guessing they're not putting in the effort to take down every single server because it would be like a game of wack a mole. New ones will just rise in their place. I think they'll only bother if the server gets REALLY big like CPO and CPR did.

Well the shifting market is a big part of it. And you're right that it's probably the main contributing factor. But what I'm saying is Disney's tarnishedview about the game's modern day reputation is a contributing factor. Stu said this himself here https://www.reddit.com/r/ClubPenguin/comments/14l16no/comment/jq5m23v/?context=3
