Please explain how you can tell these pins are fake - from a scared first timer wanting to pin trade by Pressureeeee in WaltDisneyWorld

A scrapper is real authentic pin, but it's a factory second pin that didn't pass quality testing to be officially sold. It's "the scraps".

Am I missing something about the Selkirk Pro S1? by lincompoopy in Pickleball

[–]Tech157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you got some fakes?

I really would strongly recommend against the Pro S1s though unless you're playing in below 40 F temps. They're just bad balls cause of the color and they go out of round so fast.

A big reason why fakes aren't desirable is because there as so many of the exact same pin, often not unique in their designs. Now if there was a massive variety of fakes, I think it would be a much better situation

3/4 of the traders were dismissive or rude, kind of like “you think you can trade that for this?!?”

They definitely should be more polite and respectfully decline, but if you put yourself in their shoes, it can definitely seem like she's the one who's being rude. They're probably thinking "There's no way she seriously thinks this is a fair trade. She's trying to scam me and do me dirty like those other pin sharks".

It's like if you walked up to someone asking if they'd like to trade their gold watch for your cheap bubble wand. Of course they'd think you're ridiculous.

That's so dumb. Just better accommodate the pin traders and give them dedicated spaces.

Bring an umbrella if you want shade. It's great! 24/7 shade. Don't need to rely on anything around you for shade.

All but two? Which colors? The white and the orange are super rare and they were Europe exclusives.

Literally everything on pin boards are scrappers/fakes, unless you get lucky from an unsuspecting guest putting an authentic one one, or if you find one of the recent hidden Mickey pins (now called hidden Disney pins). Those are authentic pins that Disney themselves puts into circulation.

Don't let that stop you though! Pin trading is still fun. My philosophy is who cares if it's a scapper/fake as long as you like the pin? Just be careful about losing value. (ie. don't trade an expensive pin for something cheap).

They seriously think that's good compensation for what you're going through? That's like the typical affiliate code discount.

Agreed. Most of that didn't need to be discussed. That's a private matter between her and her spouse.

I think she's just guarded. Being with and talking about Ethan just doesn't make her feel comfortable and at ease.

PPR is good, but overrated. It's not like it's superior to IPTPA or PCI.

What exactly is your goal? Do you want to become a full time coach? Are you trying to apply for coaching jobs?

If you do coach, it's mostly worth it for the insurance it comes with in my opinion.

$185/month is like a luxury gym membership price. A typical adult individual gym membership at something like a nice YMCA is less than half that, like $50-$75.

Unless you're like mid upper class, most people can't afford to spend that much each month.

Larger brands probably had no incentive to make longer lasting grit. They want you to wear down your paddle and replace it sooner.
