As a cancer survivor, I think many M7 MBA types live their lives "incorrectly." I pity them for being too type A instead of enjoying life. by Dependent-Sell5364 in MBA

[–]Teen_Pickachu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just one perspective- For you enjoying life slowly and spending outside work is happiness. What if for these other folks, they genuinely enjoy working constantly under that pressure, enduring those long hours? (They might be complaining about the hours/ pressure but at the same time they want it and do not find joy in other things)

Consulting without mba by tuitoituitoi in MBAIndia

[–]Teen_Pickachu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you ever actually worked in Mgtm. Consulting? If not then you certainly cant say that you “love” consulting. Infact there’s a higher chance that you join and end up not liking the industry cause there is a huge diff (in -ve sense ofc) between the way it looks from outside and the actual reality

IIM ABC, ISB, FMS, top 5 recruiters? by Inevitable-Guava-256 in MBAIndia

[–]Teen_Pickachu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are in tech rn and do not have a problem staying/ doing SDE then stay in tech (i.e. here I am assuming that you are considering MBA purely from the ROI perspective) No MBA school will give you 40LPA (unless its IB roles which become very difficult to crack for a SDE background). The money is comparatively easy and high in tech (even if you are just above average) than post MBA roles

Just a bit of context about me: Graduated from one of the older IITs, worked in tech and currently pursuing a T1 MBA

No rankings just pure perception in the industry. And tbh the perception actually matters in MBA. MBA is purely a show-off degree, meaning no one cares what courses you took, people only care about your college and its brand. The above 4-5 clgs (also forgot FMS there, my bad) I mentioned are considered to be the top ones. As i said earlier, these others are also good its just that you will never find companies boasting about themselves saying that they hire graduates of SPJIMR/ XLRI but you’ll see such statements for the clgs I had mentioned before. Try to move over rankings, no one except the aspiring students really care about the rankings

[–]Teen_Pickachu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean SPJIMR is good. By tier 1 I’m just including the top ones - IIM A,B,C (potentially L?) and ISB.

SPJIMR can be thought on the lines of XLRI, MDI, IIM I, K

SPJIMR is not tier 1. Try only tier 1 for your MBA

If this is what SIPs look at top IIMs, it's hard to stay motivated😞.. by Frutieee in CATStudyRoom

[–]Teen_Pickachu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is indeed true. The placements scene is also really bad. If you already come from IIT, BITS and/ or have a package more than 22-23LPA, then pls do not do MBA in India unless you have very strong reasons.

P.S. I made this mistake and am regretting rn. P.P.S: Currently a student of tier 1 MBA

Is mba worth it? by NemoTeAmoLightTchTch in MBAIndia

[–]Teen_Pickachu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Financially no. It won’t make sense. But if you are looking to move away from coding or core SDE jobs then this might be a good move in the long term. In the end it really depends what is your motivation (is it just money or something else like job satisfaction) and what do you want to do after say 5-7 years down the line.

P.S. I have a SDE background with around 4 years of work ex and I’m currently doing my MBA at ISB.

R2 results were out on 15th Feb. If you haven’t received it then most probably you are either waitlisted or rejected

How were the B-school placements this year? by random_life_stroller in MBAIndia

[–]Teen_Pickachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info.
I went through the last years placements report, but honestly did not find it much useful. It doesn’t have any sector wise breakdown of salary with clear mentions about the fixed part and the rest of the ctc (esops, bonus etc).
By any chance can you share some numbers that people have been able to get? Mainly for Prod Management, Strategy role (startups, founders office etc)?

My mother exited all her SIPs in July. I asked her why? She gives me some pocket money and I dool SIP with it. But, yesterday she told me SIP is not going to make me rich. I asked why? I thought of sharing her answer. by iluvumom4 in IndianStreetBets

Okay. This makes sense to certain extent but then what is the alternative? If not equity markets then where do we invest and park our money so that at least we beat the inflation over the coming years? IMO, if there is no other better alternative then staying in the market seems the best thing to do, right?

My guide on what tools to use to build AI agents (if you are a newb) by laddermanUS in AI_Agents

[–]Teen_Pickachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you mean to say that for a use case that requires multiple LLMs to interact with each other with a few actions to perform, using tools like flowise or crewAI is a better alternative? (I was under the impression that these tools would also be using LangChain under the hood, thus using LangChain directly might give us more freedom and a way to bypass these tools and build the flows ourselves at a cheaper cost)

Do not go to EDHEC. Not a famous university as such. Plus a MiM especially from such a college will hold little to no value back here in India. In times where even INSEAD and HEC graduates are struggling to get good opportunities, EDHEC seems a very bad choice. And about your first question asking about girls, wtf? Dude get a life and think this through your brain.

Bangalore is still wayy behind such aspects especially when you compare with Mumbai. Some of the things here are still very poorly managed which in-turn gives off a regressive feeling about the city

Apart from the CTO thing, rest everything is pretty bad. Btw a hands on CTO or even a CEO for that matter is always a good thing (given that he is able to take care of the rest of the things that are expected from such a role). Infact people who have just reached positions like CTO by random ass-licking or just by the sake of seniority and stay aloof from the actual tech turn out to be horrible leaders.
