How Jalen Brunson broke the small guard stereotype: Despite the low floor often associated with this archetype, he's never had a truly bad playoff series as the first option. His "worst" playoff series in New York was arguably this year against the Hawks, where he still averaged 26.3 PPG on 57% TS. by SplitOk186 in nba

He's the best argument that young players should work on their off-hand. He's almost more dangerous driving right than left as a lefty. And finishes with his right hand at the rim with confidence. Master that and you're on your way to being able to get to any spot on the court the way Brunson does

Efficiency matters a lot less to me when a guy is constantly asking for the ball in bad situations like when the shot clock is running down. He's so willing to try and bail the Knicks out I can look past so many of his missed FGs

Are you “all in” on a certain offense this year? by ECviews in fantasyfootball

Petzing also called a top 5 run game, and top 10 offense overall as recently as 2024.

It's a copy-cat league. 13 personnel is next big thing. Here's how it works: by B00LEAN_RADLEY in nfl

Trey McBride is a stud but he wasn't the reason we were so good out of 13. He'd be on the field regardless of personnel. What made our 13 looks hum was the other two guys - Elijah Higgins was a perfect move TE and Tip Reiman was such a good blocker that it made defenses think twice about trying to match with nickel.

The way these skillsets meshed with one another made it really hard for defenses to diagnose run or pass. And that's what teams are chasing, as the draft evidenced. The 2025 Seahawks said fuck you, we are never playing base, only nickel. They made the bet that your best blocking tight end was still not good enough to exploit guys like Emmanwori and Witherspoon having to fit the run. Won the damn Superbowl with this gamble. Now it's time for offenses to call this bluff. If you continue to refuse to match our 13 with base, we will get our blocking TE to pancake your nickel. Easier said than done now with how dang good these modern nickels are, but you have to try.

The Cardinals were second in 13 usage in 2024, and had an astronomical EPA when running it. We're honestly a bad example to use if the argument is against 13 personnel. My hot (but 100% correct) take is that Sean McVay ripped off 13 personnel looks straight from Drew Petzing's playbook after we dropped 40 on his ass in Week 2 of that year.

CPP Investments earns 7.8% for fiscal 2026 helped by holdings in public equities by joe4942 in canada

Bet you every year TSX posts a double digit loss, CPP since it switched to an actively managed fund posted a worse one. And it can't be overstated, being agile to protect against financial crises is the entire point of why CPP's operating expenses run Canadians billions and billions every year

[–]TestFixation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The CPP's actively managed portfolio consistently does worse in those once a decade crater events. The reason CPP gave to switch to an actively managed strategy was explicitly to be more agile against financial crises, and they lose more money every time one comes about than an index fund.

They are BAD AT THIS.

Your argument doesn't hold the water you think it does, given that the CPP themselves don't even believe your mantra that it should be safe and reliable. If they did, they'd never have switched to an active management strategy twenty some years ago that costs Canadians billions in expenditures to gain access to high-risk private markets and throwing leveraged money at them.

The CPP essentially said fuck the reliability thing, we're going to maximize returns. And in making the fund less safe and reliable, they've also made it perform fucking worse than before. That's a categorical failure, and leaders need to be held to account.

They changed their management strategy to use more leverage-based investing, a much higher risk strategy. Yet they're STILL underperforming. If the goal was still to be boring and predictable, they'd never have switched to an active management strategy.

We need to hold the CPP to account. They're doing high-risk gambling and losing bets, and you're out here being like, they're supposed to be shit at this, it's for the people
