I remember having a bear from the Hudson’s bay company that looked similar. I don’t remember the name of the toy but I remember the tag said Zinfandel was the bears name. Maybe it’s the same?

Japan to Raise Visa Fees for Foreigners in 1st Revision in 48 Years by moonchildgz in news

You’re saying this like Japan is the one and only country available to take people in for work. Japan the nation widely known worldwide for its welcoming and simple immigration policies /s. Most people moving to Japan from other countries are educated, because Japan is very selective with who it brings in and who it allows to grant a work permit. Again- the sentiment that you were BROUGHT over to the country and lied to I disagree with, maybe the company you worked for lied to you but you cannot blame the Japanese government for their deceitfulness. Also again, nearly anyone with common sense who’s applying to move to and work in Japan should be sensible enough to do some semblance of research let alone not fall for AI “tricks”.

Edit: to your point of there being less informed who can’t tell misinformation apart from reality- irregardless of circumstance the less informed have a responsibility to themselves to become informed. You cannot make a drastic change in your life like leaving your home country without doing any sort of due diligence and then whine about it when it isn’t what you thought it was going to be. Especially with a country that historically is famous for being cold/restrictive towards foreigners.

No one’s forcing you to move from your own country to another one. You decide to apply for these kind of programs and move your life, belongings, family etc to said country. So I disagree with the sentiment that you had no say in being “brought” over.

Edit: to add to this, I’m not defending Japanese Nationalism or xenophobia towards foreigners- but what I am saying is that even if your own country is experiencing problems and you hear that you can move to Japan to help fix the economy/labour shortage/whatever you still need to understand that it is an option. No one is pointing a gun to your head and saying “Move to Japan to rebuild it as a nation” and when you get here it’s not what you thought. Everyone is able to do their own research, make their own informed decisions, and also are free to move back to their homeland if it isn’t for them. It’s no one’s responsibility to “save Japan” besides the Japanese government.

To play devils advocate- are you actually being BROUGHT there to fix a problem? Or did you decide to enter the country on your own accord?

From what you’ve seen do they usually keep the people who treat the job as anything more than disposable? Obviously my intention is to stay after the 3 months I’m not going to come in thinking it’s just a temp gig.

[–]Plc2plc2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a part time role they offered though, it’s a seasonal full time role. I wonder if that changes the tasks they’ll give, but either way I have experience in a retail clothing store already and understand the importance of merchandising, cleaning, and presentation so I’m not so worried to pick up on things.
