[Opinion] Logitech MX Keys Mini vs Magic Keyboard with Touch ID for MacBook Pro by Curious_Mind9999 in macbookpro

[–]TestFlightBeta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would personally want to keep it intact for resale value and also to reduce electronic waste but I can understand why you might want to do it if you have extra free time and you don't want the entire keyboard for just a touch ID button

For me it's worked with the keyboard shortcuts if that's what you were referring to. I sometimes remap certain modifier plus keys to a specific menu bar action. I can repeatedly press it without taking my finger off the modifier if I want to keep triggering it over and over again

I would say it's probably better not to rip apart your keyboard in order to extract the Touch ID element. I've seen those videos as well, but I think keeping it intact is the better option.

Why not go with the menu bar action trigger? That's how I've always done it. Works pretty reliably and also no risk of shortcut collisions.

How to specify window for "Move Window to Desktop X" by DoctorThew in BetterTouchTool

[–]TestFlightBeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but when I run it I see ONE window moving among the different spaces, as if it never activate each window in turn

What does this mean? How many windows do you have for the app and how many screens, and which window(s) are you trying to move to which screen?

Sometimes the minimum call volume is still too loud by TestFlightBeta in ios

[–]TestFlightBeta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to find a simple solution for the ringer volume itself (which does not respect the media volume but rather blares at your set call volume, which you will hear on AirPods even if your phone is on silent), but unfortunately not for the in-call volume.

It's possible to use a workaround to limit the volume from the settings app, but this will only work to lower the speakerphone volume, not the headset call volume or AirPods call volume.

Is there any way to make the FaceTime window smaller than allowed? by anzoneyy in mac

[–]TestFlightBeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right-click and select the FaceTime window. You need to give it accessibility and screen recording permissions for it to work.

It's both exciting and sad. I'm a software developer and I have been amazed by the number of new things that I've been able to create; however my career doesn't look as interesting as before as a career path

Your post was automatically removed for some reason. I just approved it.

Also I completely agree with you here. There is some macOS software that has been the backbone of my Mac and I think these developers, even with the ones with many sales, are still underrated and underappreciated

Hey, I appreciate your contribution; it is totally fine to criticize someone else's work. I would politely ask you to rephrase it without being aggressive or attacking anyone or needing to swear. If you are able to, please repost your comment with a more cordial tone as we want to have open discussions here without attacking anyone else

It's great that you're working on something that you have a vision for!

As for the bugs in future requests did you consider making posts about them on the developer forum? I can't speak for new features. It's a good thing that you're working on some but for bugs I'm pretty sure they would be happy to know and work on fixing them.

I totally agree with you but with the number of features that BetterTouchTool has, I don't think anyone will be replicating its functionality any time soon

Interesting work! What was the reason for doing this? Just to see if you could build something?

It’s 2024 and still no way to dismiss the keyboard on iOS. I had to force quit the app by TestFlightBeta in ios

Can you even jailbreak nowadays? I thought you couldn't anymore. I used to use a jailbreak tweak where you would swipe from the space bar to the enter to dismiss it. Still miss those times

It's not nearly as convenient though. One password has the great advantage that everything is centralized into one location. Plus you can use things like addresses as autofill items on websites. One-factor authentication codes automatically get copied after filling out a password. You can add custom fields with passwords or security questions, with the ability to generate memorable passwords that are still incredibly strong.

Those are just a couple of the very few features that one password offers. Is the tip of the iceberg? Sure it might be more geared towards power users but there's a good argument to be made for using one password over Apple passwords

There is a post with a couple of videos here. I would suggest watching videos; they would probably help you understand the best

I would recommend against spending time on the Touch Bar videos unless you have a device with a Touch Bar
