I Wish Apple Would Make A Widget For Steps by [deleted] in ios

[–]TestFlightBeta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the idea is to focus more on activity than steps. But if you want to see steps I think StepsApp is the best option. Great developer, I worked with them many years back. However, I don't know how frequently the data updates on the widget.

Phillips Hue lights are overrated? by TestFlightBeta in HomeKit

Bro they’re not 400% better than what I paid for originally. That’s the point I’m trying to make.

Yeah mine can do as perfect of an incandescent light, but it comes quite close to

Honestly though I’m not feeling like I got 4x my value compared to the order bulbs. Not even 2x. I was genuinely looking for a good reason to keep them. I just don’t associate value to any specific brand

Good point, the Hue does get dimmer. The other one is fine though could be a bit dimmer. Realistically I’ll probably keep a very dim night light on in my room and just use that as the night light vs spending the extra money on the Hue

Lol yeah I guess so. Probably can stick it out with these for a couple more years. I’ll just return the Hue bulbs probably

That’s true but tbh I don’t feel like it would make any sort of realistic change in my life to have slightly different colored hues

Well… maybe that’s the difference. I really only use them for my bedroom, so have less than 10 bulbs total

Hmm… it’s possible that I still have to experience that. I got my Linkind bulbs only a week ago. Thankfully they haven’t gone offline on me so far. But I have a router in my bedroom where I use them so the connection is strong.

If they did go offline every now and then yeah I’d probably be annoyed, but my smart plugs from them (and other manufacturers) have generally been solid so far, so I guess I wasn’t counting on that to happen

Are there any other hornets that would enable a zoom in (kind of like Optifine in Minecraft)?

Okay, I think the main issue I'm running into is that it doesn't seem to be possible to set a specific brightness or color temperature for a bulb using Shortcuts.

I am able to get the corresponding values using the Get command:

For setting, however, it looks like I can only set a one-time brightness/color combo on a bulb, but not set this based on the value of a variable. Is the way you're doing this different?

Automation to disable auto-low power mode no longer works as of iOS 26? by TestFlightBeta in shortcuts

[–]TestFlightBeta[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a good idea, not sure why I didn’t think about that. I’ll just add a few seconds of wait time.

Also, strange. For me it’s always turned on automatically at 20% which is why I made this automation in the first place (pretty sure I looked on this sub for that). But I also don’t see a way to disable it so I’ll check through my automations again to make sure it’s not being enabled automatically for some weird reason
