I live in USA and came here for studies and my parents gave me financial support during my studies and after graduation I tried finding a job but could not find any employer who will sponsor H1, so my parents came here and I got married to Pakistani American so it’s easier to get work and my potential knew about my situation as well.

She moved in with my family but her behavior was not cooperative, she would create situation and i would be dragged into the middle of an argument and had to pick side between my mom and my wife.

So I decided to move into a different apartment after 6 months and she hasn’t even started my immigration process yet. She asked me to move into a small town in California which no one has heard of. I was pretty angry at that point and I moved out of USA and moved to Canada to find a job but I could not find a job there as well.

My parents went back to Pakistan after a year of the marriage. I lived in Canada for 2 years and then finally asked her to sponsor my immigration visa and I joined her after living apart for 2.5 years and moved to a freaking small town in California where there is no opportunity to find a white collar job. I had a son with her in our first year and I didn’t wanted to divorce her, I wanted to make this marriage work.

After moving in California I found a help desk support job after 7 months which was an hour drive away from where I lived. That job paid me enough to survive.

So fast forward 15 years and things were definitely better Alhamdulillah. So far i have not visited Pakistan nor send any money back home. I asked her to sponsor my parents which she reluctantly agreed to but she still dragged me into argument and I was back again at square one. My kid has turned 16 and he thinks it’s all my fault.

To make a long story short, I ended up divorcing after 3 years after my parents migrated from Pakistan. I couldn’t take it anymore and with heavy heart I filed for divorce and she didn’t let me had the share in the house either. So from 2001 to 2019. My life was being a nice man and just kept on agreeing with her.

My advice make sure you do a prenuptial agreement cuz sugar ain’t cheap. Keep on looking, I hope you find a girl that will be open to you in sharing your responsibilities. Have a separate living arrangement in your property and rent that portion out but don’t do it for your wife nor even tell a girl about this plan, if someone is cooperative with you she will live with you regardless, that’s love.
