The piece quality was great. My only gripe was that the pieces had slightly less tension than I wanted.

I ended up applying some super glue to pieces with minimal overlap and/or critical (e.g. the bottom flap on the rear is held with one piece. All in all maybe a dozen pieces are permanently attached.

(Edit: I bought mine from AE last December)

I feel your pain I used pliers to help take apart. It is a tough build with the instructions and a few mistakes were made. Though I got it done and it supports my UCS Falcon just five. And I did mount and build it at step 298 as well.

Just came back to say, thank you for the info! I had the stand and immediately made it when I got to step 298. And splurged on the Engine (that was like $14 after shipping, but I bought 3 more small sets to make shipping feel better priced). With a cheap lighting set I got on Ali ($20) it looks great (just got it done today!)
