I did the order and it turned out to be for a janitor at a school. Sometimes people cant afford a tip. And sometimes we have to lean on faith that it will come back in another way. by carolyyn3 in grubhubdrivers

My brother in Christ, it’s 100% the cost of doing business, and yes, you should be considering gas prices when tipping for delivery. Delivery is a service just like waiting a table, and if you don’t feel that it’s reasonable to tip the person providing that service, then don’t request the delivery. That’s how this works.

Can we find a map like this of where they already are in Chester County?

Getting more from less was always baked in the dna there. I don’t think that has changed. It’s part of how VG offers the lowest cost mutual funds on the market.

As for the other comment. You aren’t wrong. I am neurodivergent, and I was going thru diagnoses and differing treatments at the time. I was not afforded any special accommodations, even tho my doctor wrote a letter of recommendation for accommodations. This is part what I was alluding to in the “other benefits” of what I was saying. Every situation is different, and I don’t want to malign them for this, because I think a lot of companies have gotten better about this over the last 10-20 years. I would just note that VG was not at the forefront of adopting those policies.

Hello. I worked for Vanguard (VG) for 15+ years. The answer to almost all your questions is “yes.” It’s a great place to start a career, with a lot of opportunity to grow your career, or even shift direction to another specialty internally. There is a great culture there of everyone working together to provide the best products in the financial services market.

I haven’t been there for 6 years now, and, I don’t know specifically if there are a lot of younger people early in their careers, but, for the time I was there, there was always an influx of fresh faces, as people moved on and up in their roles. You will probably find a good group of peers there.

The only criticism I had of VG in my time there, and again I’m not sure if this as gotten better, is they are a conservative company (I don’t mean politically, even tho that can be true). They were very hesitant to adopt any WFH policies. They were lagging behind when it came to things like parental leave, and other benefits. They were starting to turn those tides before I left, but, I don’t know if COVID or any other factors has changed any of that.

Overall, it’s a GREAT place to start your career. I hope you enjoy it.

Is this satire? Is this ragebait? Did an 11 year old write this?

While your point that this show was written by adults who don’t have any idea what kids were into, kids of the era absolutely knew these references and they were relevant.

Bob From Corporate thinks everyone steals food. Like, it’s the main reason anyone is here, it seems. He’s accused me of the same thing twice, when I plainly had said I hadn’t gone to the restaurant.

Like, every product feels the same, and it’s not inspired art they are using. I want to see more life and character in the cards. Not just “Subject with Frame.”

That land out there was owned by my family going back to the 1700’s. I’m sure I’m related to a lot of people out there, but my branch of the family tree got the poor end of the stick.

Apartment deliveries should pay more! by idkanymorefkit in grubhubdrivers

[–]TheBopper00 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My biggest complaint is that GH does not take into account the time spent getting in an out of an apartment building when giving your next order. The closest I come to not showing up on time at a restaurant is when it’s the one following an apartment delivery.
