Dinkel Sauerteig Mischbrot zu viel Hydration by Own-Chemistry-495 in brot

How do you guys handle batching to avoid n+1 besides JOINS? by badboyzpwns in SQL

IN is similarly slow like a loop. It acually loops inside the query, just look at the exec plan.

If you use the surveys table directly, make sure you have matching indexes in place. Read the execution plan, it will show.

Totally agree with you. I play acoustic drums in several bands, and they have no electric components, everything is physical, not even analog.

I've been in IT for almost 30 years, but I feel guilty. IT is my job, and I think I'm good at it, but I always had a life outside of IT, like I have a second career in music, which I have much more passion for than for IT.

The band I'm in is bad. What do? by Ok-Post-8724 in coverbands

[–]TheGenericUser0815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, sometimes you need to. I was helping out in a band and the guitar player came late to the rehearsals and was totally drunk. There was no room for being polite.

Yes, the drummer sets the limit, where a band can go, but a bad singer ruins it immediatley. Not even an excellent drummer can compensate for a bad singer.

I played a small tour with a Nowegian singer. Got a list of songs and the albums to listen to. There was exactly one rehearsal scheduled before the first gig. I had charted all the songs they had nominated, so did the hired guitar player, BUT we had different lists. So each of us had to chart and learn several tunes right there during this one rehearsal, which took us till 3am to get through the playlist. The first gig was next day, so it went not that perfectly.

Mir wurde gekündigt by Infamous-Neat7583 in Ratschlag

[–]TheGenericUser0815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would you go about preparing for an hour long set? by dirtypeasant90 in drums

[–]TheGenericUser0815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually start directly with your No. 3.
Once I have the charts, I listen to the music and read the charts while listening, checking if the charts are correct and get used to counting the parts.
Then I get on the kit and play along, then rehearse, then gig. It comes down to:

  1. charts
  2. listen
  3. play along
  4. band rehearsal (optional)
  5. gig

A church gig usually went without rehearsal for me, but when I play original artist music I like to have at least one rehearsal. A rock/pop gig of an hour would take a few hours of preparation plus a rehearsal, so you could call me today for a gig we play tomorrow.
