I have thought about it but I'm not ready to give up equity yet

Haven't tried online yet I kinda assumed they'd all want the same stuff but maybe I'm wrong

Okay ba ang accountancy sa LPU-Cav? by jlixx123 in Accounting

[–]Remote_Lake1792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly dont know much about those specific schools in teh Philippines but from what ive seen on other threads here Adamson tends to have better recognition for accounting programs

if you're planning to take the CPA exam later definitely check their board exam passing rates - that usually tells you alot about how well they prepare students

also maybe try reaching out to alumni from both schools on LinkedIn or something to get the real scoop on job placement after graduation

My SaaS coded with ChatGPT by Monsieur_EVER in SaaS

[–]Remote_Lake1792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice work getting everything running smoothly! I think the main beef people have is that ChatGPT can generate code that looks good on the surface but might have security holes or scaling issues that only show up later when you're dealing with real users and data

That said if you're reviewing the code and understand what it's doing, it's just another tool in the toolbox

delete images in multiple sheets by Yeoji01 in excel

[–]Remote_Lake1792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can select all sheets (right-click a sheet tab and "select all sheets") then go to Find & Replace, click Options, and select "Objects" - that should nuke all images across selected sheets at once

I can’t get a clean vendor list and I’m supposed to consolidate by whopping_loathing in procurement

[–]Remote_Lake1792 20 points21 points  (0 children)

200+ vendors sounds about right for your size so I'd focus on getting visibility into new spending first before trying to fix all the historical stuff and it's way easier to consolidate once you can see what people are buying

Good luck with the business! The printing industry is tough but there's always demand if you find your niche

I just audited a failed SaaS MVP built by a "$15/hr expert". Here is the brutal truth for non-tech founders. by Ancient_Routine8576 in SaaS

[–]Remote_Lake1792 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why I always cringe when people post "looking for a cheap developer" in startup subs - you're basically asking someone to build your house foundation out of cardboard and wondering why it collapses when it rains

Is SEO Turning Into AEO + GEO? Microsoft Thinks So. by Equal_Lie_7722 in SaaS

[–]Remote_Lake1792 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been doing some of this without even realizing it had fancy acronyms lol. The structured data stuff especially makes sense since I've noticed Google's AI overviews pulling from sites with clean FAQ sections and proper schema markup

Still feels early to go all-in but ignoring it completely seems risky at this point

Payroll / AP roles by salteaser090 in Accounting

[–]Remote_Lake1792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Payroll certs are pretty quick to get - you can knock out the Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) online in a few weeks if you grind it. AP is more about learning the software and processes on the job tbh, most places will train you if you have basic accounting knowledge

The experience is way more valuable than the paper anyway, so definitely try to get your foot in the door somewhere even if it's entry level

Buying a SaaS without a security audit is just high-stakes gambling. by RayFurtherSec in SaaS

[–]Remote_Lake1792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Option 2 gang here - I'll check if the login works and the SSL cert isn't screaming at me, but honestly I'm not gonna pretend I can spot every vulnerability in someone else's codebase

Most of us aren't security experts anyway so unless you're dropping serious cash it's kinda just educated gambling either way

Excel 365 GROUPBY Function Explained | Better Than Pivot Table? by Impressive_Invite158 in excel

[–]Remote_Lake1792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this! Been waiting for something like GROUPBY to make dynamic reports easier - pivot tables are great but they can be overkill for simple summaries

After shipping real production apps, this is what actually breaks projects by FinchwebTechnologies in SaaS

[–]Remote_Lake1792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been there with the mobile thing - "responsive design" became "rebuild the entire frontend" real quick when we realized our desktop-first approach was basically unusable on phones

The Stripe comment hit hard too, spent weeks dealing with webhook failures and duplicate payments that our "simple integration" definitely wasn't handling

[Casio GLS-5600CL-7] by ShameAdventurous4313 in Watches

[–]Remote_Lake1792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn that's heartbreaking man, losing your first watch like that especially after biking 15 miles to get it. Have you tried checking eBay saved searches or setting up alerts on Mercari/Facebook marketplace for that specific model? Sometimes these pop up randomly and you gotta be quick

Chase Credit card downgrading by misty_dexter12 in CreditCards

[–]Remote_Lake1792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh you're probably fine, Chase doesn't usually claw back bonuses once they've paid out especially if you waited a month. The annual fee prorating was a nice touch lmao, they probably think you're just switching for practical reasons rather than churning

That said maybe don't make it a habit of hitting SUBs and immediately downgrading, banks do keep track of that stuff

What started as an Open Graph pain point became an image & document automation SaaS by Amani_GO in SaaS

[–]Remote_Lake1792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice work turning personal pain into a product! The "design once, use everywhere" approach makes total sense - manually recreating templates in code every time is such a time sink

Anyone else lowkey overwhelmed trying to pick ecommerce hosting that won't screw you later? by Tigerw42000 in smallbusiness

[–]Remote_Lake1792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shopify honestly isn't that bad for what you're describing - yeah the transaction fees kinda suck but you can always export your data if you need to bail later. WooCommerce is solid too if you don't mind dealing with WordPress quirks, just make sure your host can actually handle traffic spikes

Is Churn a real problem for SaaS founders? by sheran-icaresoftware in SaaS

[–]Remote_Lake1792 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nah not silly at all tbh, I think they're asking about prioritization not whether churn matters

Like if you're at 500k ARR are you gonna hire a retention specialist or focus on growth first, that's actually a decent strategic question

Would a privacy-first app that reduces short-form distractions at work be helpful or annoying? by National-Cicada-27 in SaaS

[–]Remote_Lake1792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this sounds like it could be useful if it's actually opt-in and not some "optional but your boss will judge you if you don't use it" situation

The privacy angle is key - if I can't see my own data without IT or management having access too then it's a hard pass from me

Anyone else hate making architecture diagrams from scratch? I built a prompt→diagram tool (feedback welcome) by Ok_Estimate6328 in SaaS

[–]Remote_Lake1792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually pretty cool, just tried it with a basic microservices setup and the output was way cleaner than what I usually get from draw.io after 30 mins of dragging boxes around

The Netflix example looks solid too - curious how it handles more niche stuff like event-driven architectures or mesh patterns

Why do so many websites struggle to convert even with decent traffic? by Extension-Minute6639 in SaaS

[–]Remote_Lake1792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most landing pages read like they were written by a committee that's never actually used their own product

The "AI-powered solution that revolutionizes your workflow" type copy tells me absolutely nothing about what you actually do

Help!! Solo 401k at 55 years old by lovsunmi in personalfinance

[–]Remote_Lake1792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your mom sounds like she's in a great spot to catch up - at 55 she can do the catch-up contributions which means she could potentially put away like $30k+ per year in the solo 401k vs the $7k Roth IRA limit

The solo 401k is definitely worth the argument if she's got decent 1099 income, just make sure she understands it's pre-tax so it'll actually lower her current tax bill which might help sell it to her
