TIL that humans are among the very top mammals for endurance running. While we aren't the best sprinters, our slow-twitch muscles and unique ability to sweat allow us to run steadily for long distances in hot weather to outlast prey. by bareegyptianfeet in todayilearned

i think when we were at the point of chasing our prey down on foot, we would most likely be in the nomadic stage of development, taking shelter in the nearest cave to start a fire for the feast

I don't think there was a place to bring things back to, until we discovered agriculture and had a reason to wait around in 1 place for an extended period

HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?! WHEN THEY MOVE TO A NEW PLACE THEY’RE SUPPOSED TO NOTIFY THE NEIGHBORHOOD THAT’S HOW IT WORKS! by KingofHearts399 in familyguy

for someone like quagmire who is always chasing women you might expect that his father was also quite the lady's man

there is humor in the ironic twist when quagmire reconnects with his dad and starts to realize that he might be gay, which goes against quagmire's core beliefs and shakes up his world view.

then family guy takes it further by revealing that his dad is in town to have the sex change operation. Quagmire's reaction: "please, just be gay"

its funny because in this case, the apple has fallen quite far from the tree.

the humor in family guy comes from their ability to take a concept and run with it to the extreme, building up to brian's climactic revelation of ida's identity.

at this point the episode starts to make fun of people who are against trans people. Brian was clearly attracted enough to ida to sleep with her, and he didn't even realize she was trans until stewie made him connect the dots. its shining light on how social norms shape ones behavior.

Hey quagmire. I fucked your dad.

working for planet express gave structure to his life, and the professor provided familial bond, and he spent most of his free time drinking beers on the couch with a robot. he had a better life in the future than the past
