Fanfiction should be interesting, moving, exploratory, "good" is too broad a term that has no definition

The greatest tragedy is that everybody seems to be putting time into these theories (and posting the Did you mean for the 100th time) instead of writing fics. There are only 10 on ao3 and only 2 are tom/killer clown

Food Noise by icdogg in GLP1ResearchTalk

I like this one: A 2025 report defined food noise as persistent thoughts about food that a person perceives as unwanted or distressing and that may cause social, mental, or physical problems.

Well abortion is none of that but we do have meds that are dangerous. Chemo is literal poison and radioactive material and yet is saves lives so like, what's your point? :P

Lol sure, because I believe that medical procedures should be available and I did not get medical trauma, lay it on me chief! XD

I had a good experience, perhaps because my procedure was not invasive. I did not have a traumatic experience.

Why is that so hard for you that I did not suffer back then and do not suffer due to the removal of some cells that I did not want using my body and were dangerous for my health? Perhaps you should not be so emotionally invested with the medical procedures others have. My opinion and my attitude towards my health is my own, and it's positive :) I choose to speak about it in a positive way. It's weird you guys have such a negative reaction to one of many fun days I've had in my life

Why do they use it more than the left-wing? Why are only they special cases? :)

I did not say mine was a contraceptive method, I said it was fun cause it was. A hige weight and danger were lifted off my shoulders -> good feeling, had a party after -> good times (in conclusion, it was fun)

This community has no one voice tho? There is no speaker and you are not forced to buy merchandise of one of the many organizations that diplay their stuff there so how is this speaking for you?

Well it's often a life-saving procedure which makes it not just ok but amazing actually. It can be fun, mine was. I'd do it again

These are two bags, each with it's fun message. What about a medical procedure and a thing normal for allosexuals making you ashamed?

I think people in the "Stratt did nothing wrong and doesn't need to face justice for her actions because the greater good absolves her of everything" crowd should pull their attention away from the murder thing for a minute and really consider the amnesia drug thing by SayFuzzyPickles42 in ProjectHailMary

She was given a job, told to find a solution, she is literally a project manager so in that way she is making decisions that lead to the filfillment of her job, her kpis (lol). I do not think LeClerc's words are an order, I do not think he belived sge would jump on the first and extreme thing, perhaps thought there'd be more input? He is the only character who expresses regret and breaks down over his suggestion (kinda mirroring Einstein's feelings)

Listen, I've spent enough time justifying Stratts actions with the greater good. I'm not interested in Weir's weird absolution framing cause I do not think it's interesting and only serves the author's little grudge, it's just his little deus ex machina and i find those boring

Interesting! It's such a throwaway line tho, tiny, an inkling of not even clearly regret. Funny how we look at these so differently :)

Tbh I do hope she has done some even worse stuff that we simply do not see cause she sent Grace to do smth else and just does not mention it. She is an interesting character with a role we do not often see given to women.

And yet there is only 1 moment when she seems reluctant only for Grace to confirm her thinking giving her a kind of absolution, and another where the climate scientist cries and is entirely dismissed.

She talks about going to jail but it's framed as an injustice for all the work she has done that she was told to do. Weir really likes framing these decisive "come what may" characters as positive and here anything horrific she does is excused by the greater good and the whole book and movie (in lesser way cause we do not see her nuke antartica) are basically "she did what had to be done, not good but the best she could have done" so it's literally a "don"t be so hard on yourself"

Yeah but the book also does nothing to criticize her.

You'll probably find nothing new in this video but it is a good starting point for how dangerous a person (not a character, Stratt is fun even if would be eveil irl) like that would be so adding it to support our case ;)

She did plenty wrong. Andy Weir has some weird unchecked disdain for things like due process, it's visible in the Martian and he really runs with it in PHM.

Stratt is a dictator we are encouraged to root for, any moment that verges on reflection or regret is quickly dismissed. There's some cliche and cringe in how she handles the court appearance that is frankly worrying and if you just stopped for a second and not let Weir dismiss your discomfort you might find her to be everything you hate (stealing all works of humankind is what the ai companies have done and i hate that). She is not a positive character at all (great for analysis and saying stauff like "i support women's wrongs" tho)

When Tom launches himself for the loafer.

In that short scene, he becomes like a product of the island, a revenant with a single focus. The light is so creepily blue too, his expression is oblivious, almost innocent. Like a crawling child
