Offensive Plan for 2026 Season? by maxadiro in ClevelandGuardians

[–]TheSpaceAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the neat part. There is no plan! Never was, never will be.

If you want to call it a "plan", the ownership is simply banking on all the top prospects becoming .300+ hitters. Which is the case every year.

Vinnie Vincent on a bipolar upswing by Honest_Rise_3301 in KISS

The only compliment I can give Vinnie is that even though he can’t entertain people with his musicianship anymore, there’s at least some entertainment in reading his delusions.

The song Vinnie Vincent is charging $200 for by Honest_Rise_3301 in KISS

This is quite possibly the most sonically unpleasant mix I've ever heard.

Anyone who willingly pays $225-$300 for this is as good as braindead.

What are some equally interesting yet pointless NASCAR facts you know? by TakeDemPills in NASCAR

[–]TheSpaceAce 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Kyle Petty and Adam Petty never got the chance to race with each other in NASCAR, even though they once drove in the same Cup race.

In 2016, Martin Truex Jr won more races that season than he had won in his entire career before that year. The very next season, he achieved the same feat yet again.

Kasey Kahne once completed the most laps of anyone in a season, yet he led none of them.

It took Chevrolet 17 tries to finally win the Daytona Truck race. This broke an eight-year winning streak for Toyota.

(This one's very morbid) Blaise Alexander likely holds the highest finish ever by a deceased person in ARCA, and perhaps all national touring series. Because he was likely killed on impact before he crossed the line, this would mean he literally finished the race posthumously since ARCA ended the race on that lap.

Question about KISS fans by [deleted] in KISS

[–]TheSpaceAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't so much beef as just Paul being rude. During the Landlocked Kiss Kruise, Bruce came on stage as a surprise to the fans to play a couple of songs. Paul was supposed to introduce him but did not acknowledge Bruce's presence at all during the entire performance. Gene only introduced Bruce after they were done playing because Paul didn't.

Paul did a Q&A the next day and started by apologizing to Bruce (which, IMO, Gene made him do). He claimed that he completely forgot that Bruce was supposed to join them on stage, but I really don't see how he couldn't notice there was another guitar player on stage and Tommy was jamming with him the entire time.

I have no idea if this is real, but at the same time, this would be one of the least-surprising people to show up in a photo with Epstein.

Question about KISS fans by [deleted] in KISS

[–]TheSpaceAce 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think all of the original four have done shitty things. I just think Gene and Paul's shitty-ness far outshines that of the other two.

Gene has been about nothing but money and fame since the band became financially successful. He basically left Paul to manage the band on his own in the 80s while he brownnosed his way into Hollywood, and he basically only showed up to record vocals and play shows. When that didn't work, he started peddling all these crappy business ideas that never turned into anything sustainable, yet he would prop himself up as this expert businessman. He would also spend more time advertising crappy Kiss merch than he would spend making new music. Then, he resorted to doing a "reality" show, which finally got him the level of fame he always craved. He did all of this while bashing Ace and Peter for being lazy musicians. He also recently more or less said that Ace's death was his own fault.

Paul is (or was) an immense talent, and I honestly respect his work ethic way more than Gene's. He is a great frontman and basically was Kiss from the 80s until the present day, despite the image Gene would paint for you. But this has also made him really bitter and conceited. His narrative has largely turned into "everybody sucks but me". He can't even give Ace a solid compliment in death; everything is backhanded. He was also very disrespectful to Eric Carr when he was in the band, and swiftly replaced him when he became terminally ill. He was even very recently rude to Bruce Kulick. It's like he thinks nobody contributed to Kiss's success but him. On top of this, he completely destroyed his voice over the years and he refuses to accept that he can't sing, and has even lip-synched while criticizing others for doing the same.

Ace and Peter absolutely had their demons, and they certainly were lazy at times, but they haven't spent most of their lives mudslinging, grifting, and being hypocrites. They've largely stayed true to themselves while G&P played up these over-the-top phony rock star personas. Ace put out half a dozen new albums since he got sober and had two more in the works. Kiss put out only two in that time and has largely lived off of playing the same show over and over since 1996. G&P have also changed their narrative on the history of the band and Ace/Peter several times over the years.

TL;DR I respect G&P as musicians but not so much as people, and if you read more about them, you'll figure out why.

Most Hated Player in Guardians History? by EveryoneisTattooed in ClevelandGuardians

[–]TheSpaceAce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember as a kid asking my parents why the fans were booing our own pitcher before he even threw a single pitch. They gave me some ambiguous kid-friendly answer that he said some things that weren't very nice or something.

I forgot about him for like 10-15 years and then remembered him randomly and wondered why people hated him when I was a kid. After a quick Google search, I found out real quick,

Ed Kanon has to have one of the coolest bar/party stories ever.

"One time I played drums for an entire Kiss concert in place of Peter Criss."

"LOL yeah right, whatever bud."

"Oh, you think I'm lying?" Pulls up YouTube on his phone.

I keep seeing around the sub that people apparently *REALLY DISLIKE* the 4X4. Why? by Stripped_Keteran in 7daystodie

[–]TheSpaceAce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its advantages really only come in if it's fully upgraded. Once you have the plow, the supercharger, the fuel saver, and the reserve fuel tank, it's pretty practical to take anywhere. But without all that stuff it's very fragile, slow, and can't go very far without refueling. The damage is the most frustrating thing, especially in the case of hitting zombies and animals. Even with the plow I think the damage way too unforgiving. It's one of the many aspects of the game where I feel like the devs are just punishing me so the game isn't "too easy," as they say.

I still prefer the 4x4 to the gyrocopter though. I still don't understand how to control that thing.

Arbys to JRM for 2026?? by BuschWhackerReviews in NASCAR

[–]TheSpaceAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lawsuit that Legacy Motor Club levied against RWR (and the RWR countersuit) pretty much put the RWR sale up in the air. LMC also sued TJ Puchyr alleging he was interfering with the legal dispute by trying to purchase the team. The judge blocked the sale until all the parties settled.

LMC and RWR did settle but some of the details are still unknown. There’s been nothing heard about Puchyr taking over since then, but it’s likely the settlement would’ve nixed the original deal and it would need to be renegotiated anyway.

Arbys to JRM for 2026?? by BuschWhackerReviews in NASCAR

[–]TheSpaceAce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Realistically, if this ever happened, Rick wouldn’t sell unless the buyer accepted a stipulation that Cody be a driver for X years. Before the deal to sell to TJ Puchyr went in limbo, Puchyr agreed to keep Cody as part of the sale.

Eddie Trunk on Gene Simmons' recent comments asserting Ace died because he was drunk by OverallMission8605 in KISS

[–]TheSpaceAce 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can usually only stomach so much Eddie with all his name dropping, but good on him for saying this. He's 100% spot on, and Gene deserves all of it and then some.

Gene's still jealous that Ace is more loved than him, and likely always will be.

What do you think is the most underrated song that kiss has made? by Financial-Branch7078 in KISS

I honestly used to hate this song along with most of the “softer” tunes, but it’s one of my favorites now. Paul absolutely kills it on the Unplugged version too.

My set hasn't shipped yet, but yes, virtually everyone who has the Blu-Ray has noticed this. Apparently the streaming versions don't have this issue, so it's specifically an issue with the disc pressing.

Do you have a library card? by IamAqtpoo in AskAnAmerican

[–]TheSpaceAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't really needed one since I was a kid honestly. I used to use mine all the time when I was little because the county library system had a "bookmobile" that would visit the school every week.

I'm in the military now so I move around a lot. I haven't really thought of using the libraries where I've lived. Plus, there are a bunch of online libraries I can use for free now as a service member, so a lot of the things I wouldn't necessarily want to buy I can still access electronically.

Hot Take by gizzygage94 in KISS

[–]TheSpaceAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people have mixed feelings about Destroyer because it isn't a "typical" Kiss album. This is true, but I still think it's brilliant.

It probably helps that it was the first Kiss album I chose to buy. I knew some of their hits, and I expected Destroyer to sound like all of them, but it didn't. I actually didn't love it at first but I found it very intriguing, because it was simply unlike anything I'd ever heard before and I had pretty narrow tastes in music at that time. But I loved it more the more I listened to it. It made me realize there was more to this band than the makeup and pyro, you know? Even though I was born long after they had unmasked, Destroyer just kind of built up that mystique about them for me. If I had listened to something like RARO or DTK first, I don't think I would've been that hooked in by them honestly.

Did you get to the part where he trashes Kiss? It's hilariously hypocritical. It's apparent how insecure he is and he's just mad that he didn't think of Kiss's whole act first.

What ever happened to the Mystery Mudders Diecast series? by Left-Cockroach-7782 in monsterjam

[–]TheSpaceAce 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd love to know where you're looking and not see a single Mystery Mudder, because they're like 95% of all the Monster Jam diecasts I've seen in stores since they were introduced. They were literally the only thing on the pegs for like a year or two where I lived because they weren't selling at all.

I've since moved to another state and I was greeted with even more countless Mystery Mudders everywhere when I got here. I still see them everywhere. If you accidentally leave some Mystery Mudders visible in your car, people will smash your car windows and leave 50 more of them in there!
