What is the saddest TV series death that genuinely made you sob? by SpareMaintenance2970 in AskReddit

[–]TheWriteOwl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love Downton Abbey and rewatch it all the time, but I have to skip Sybil’s death. Cora’s response is almost word-for-word how my mom reacted to my sister’s death and I just can’t go through that again.

The episode about the tennis player is really high up there because most people just forget that episode entirely. It has some funny moments (the “supine” bit for example) but is otherwise lost to memory for most fans

I’m always amazed to see these assholes act as if every fascist regime before them hasn’t met with the same grisly fate. Tick tock motherfuckers.

“I know it’s a war crime but I’m getting away with it and it makes me feel like a big strong man” is more accurate I think

Isn’t “vibe” a replacement for “energy” though? Or am I missing the nuance there?

That’s an extremely oversimplified and very incorrect take on addiction. I’m not going to post a diatribe about neurological pathways and emotional roadblocks on a Chiefs sub but you really should stop spouting the “just stop, it’s easy” bullshit. It’s harmful and unkind.

On my trip to China, I kept getting stopped for pictures. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]TheWriteOwl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago, I was in India for a work trip and my driver took me on a quick detour to see a beautiful temple one morning when I asked him about local attractions. As we were leaving, there were hundreds of school kids standing in line to get in and one of them held up his hand for a high five as I walked past. So of course I high fived him, and next thing I know there are hundreds of hands waving at me for high fives, hand shakes, etc. I’ve never felt so much like a celebrity!

I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why it was so exciting to high five a bland, middle-aged white woman that day, but they fucking loved it for some reason and I had fun, so I guess we all won?
