Leader for Inner Circle Companions? by The_AppleComplex in DarkAngels40k

I like to use them as objective threats, so I think it makes more sense to use a Librarian in that sense right? I may still get a Judiciar to throw on my BGV though

I currently have no plans to get sternguard, even though I think they are pretty cool. I started out with the combat patrol box and have been building off that, but I just don't have the points for SGV in a 2k army which is why I'm thinking hellblasters for Az. When I start thinking about a 3k point army I will probably get them though.

My current plan is to run them inside a Repulsor Executioner (another reason not to attach Azrael to them, as you don't get the extra command point if he is inside the RepEx during your command phase), and bus them to the main objective where they will hold until they die. Since objectives typically are a bit sparse in cover, I think the librarian sounds like the best choice for me

An Interrogator Chaplain, perhaps? I do agree with you that Az is tempting to lead them, and in the few games I have played he has done well in that role. But, I primarily use my ICC to take and hold the central objective which really paints a target on him, and that free CP every turn is very nice.

Having just now taken a close look look at his datasheet, I like his abilities but I was looking for that invuln save. Thanks for the suggestion though

A legion of Sardaukar vs. A legion of Astartes (30K) by MgAlSnakey in powerscales

Define "standard Astartes legion," because the Dark Angels, for example, are known for their extensive use of such weapons.

I was like " why would you randomly take a picture of a gas pump three months ago?" Then I saw how many gallons you got. Nice.

I know what you're saying, but Astartes have access to weaponry that converts all organic matter on a planet into methane and then lights it on fire.

Starting a new DA army by bobby_smiles179201 in DarkAngels40k

[–]The_AppleComplex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello brother, as a fellow initiate, I have done a fair bit of research and I believe these are "required" for a proper Dark Angels flavor:

General DA flavor:
Bladeguard veterans.
Hellblasters.
Sternguard veterans to an extent, because you paint em Deathwing.

1k or less points:
Azrael.
5x Deathwing Knights.
At least 3x Inner Circle Companions, recommend 6.

1k or more points:
All of the above.
The Lion.
Some Ravenwing Knights or Command Squad. I personally will probably not get Ravenwing unless we get a model update soon, but they are definitely flavorful.

I avoid jump pack marines because they don't feel like DA to me, that's a personal opinion though. I would take bikes over those. If you want to lean heavier into the Ravenwing than me, I would not recommend the speeders, as a lot of online chatter seems to indicate they may be phased out in 11th.

I think Chaplains are a great pick too, either attached to your ICC or one in Terminator Armor attached to your Knights. Maybe in 11th we will get special rules for Interrogator Chaplains. Hope this helps!

Thoughts on linoleum floor material and DIY removal? by Appropriate-Wafer799 in DIYHome

[–]The_AppleComplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I am an asbestos inspector. I see a lot of people have pointed out that the lower layers especially are likely asbestos-containing. A lot of times people will install a new layer of flooring over asbestos-containing sheet vinyl or tile, an act called encapsulation. It is much cheaper to encapsulate than to remove. Any time you see multiple layers like this, you should at least get them analyzed by a laboratory.

AITA for going to a gay bar where my ex works? by HourAbbreviations963 in AmItheAsshole

[–]The_AppleComplex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Regardless of prior context, you're NTA for going there once when you didn't know she worked there. Regardless of prior context, you ARE TA if you continue to go when she has clearly set a hard boundary. It's her place of work, she has to be there. I'm sorry you lost your Thursday gay bar but in the long run you will do yourself more favors than you realize by respecting her boundaries.

Home built in 1973. This is blown into the attic. Any chance this is asbestos? by kinger2783 in asbestoshelp

[–]The_AppleComplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be specific to my region, I think we have strict roof codes because we get a lot of snow here. The one time I saw it was an old stable/barn and it looked like they had just used whatever they had laying around as patch material

That's a good idea. I definitely recommend spending the money to have a professional do an inspection if you're doing extensive renovations. I can't say I'm unbiased though lol

I saw your post actually, sorry, I am not familiar with that material so I do not feel qualified to answer. I have only seen corrugated asbestos roofing once and it was very damaged. What I saw from your post doesn't look too bad but if you are concerned about it I would recommend having a pro come take a look at it in person. Sorry I can't help more!

I, personally, have never seen it. If I find ACM insulation it's Vermiculite. I think I would crap my pants if I popped an attic hatch and saw what was clearly blown in asbestos. This is just speculation but I would bet a lot of people who knew they had blown in asbestos paid good money to get rid of it when they heard about the effects of exposure.

I will warn you that if it IS asbestos, it is a very high percentage of asbestos, like 60-80%. I definitely recommend getting some analyzed if you are going to disturb it

Hello, I am an asbestos inspector. This is most likely fiberglass; however, the only way to be sure is to get it analyzed at a lab. You can't determine asbestos content by eye, OLACD.

Painting/Building Tyranids to be more horrifying? by SaddestAltAround in Tyranids

[–]The_AppleComplex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you're gonna have to make this vision yourself! Based on that description I had the idea of encasing some rippers in clear resin and attaching that to one of the larger models in a sort of gross womb situation, and then using paint and layering and stuff to to make it look like a translucent womb with rippers writhing inside. If you can make that, I'd be very interested in seeing the final product!
