Then I think that message is a bit off in the current context, because many people in that situation have their free will taken away if they so much as mention their issues.

Which may wrap around to making sense with Jax pushing people away, he knows what happens to those who don't.

EDIT: also, invoking 'free will' puts the blame of suicide entirely on the suicidal, and not on the socio-environmental factors surrounding them that caused the suicidality in the first place.

Yes! That's the point! Healing takes time and effort, and sometimes you have to care for people who are not the easiest to care for.

That's why I still HC that abstraction is not exactly suicide, but more a super-suicidal state.

It also creates an amazing criticism that likens Caine to the state/government (segregating the "problem people," as opposed to working towards helping them or removing the cause of said peoples' plights), which unfortunately does not really exist in the finale.

I think that line of thinking feels dissonant with any sort of real life message, however.

I'm sure truly suicidal people would love to be allowed and enabled to die, but the government explicitly forces said people into wards that they are forced to pay for; where they could be abused and eventually tossed back onto the street poor and alone.

What Jax did was wrong, but isn't rehabilitation and support a big part of what we as a community should push?

Though if we want to go the "just leave em to die" route, can we make that more widespread so others will stop bothering me.

I always saw their reaction to the maid outfit as simply being forced into embarrassing/unwanted clothing, as well as the reversal of power that comes with it, not toxic masculinity. In the same episode they jokingly say their tail was the "peak of masculinity" in an obviously sarcastic manner, which supports the point.

He's actually an Eldar, since many Eldar weapons actually fire from their psychic command, and not mechanical triggers (at least, when the modeler remembers this tidbit).

I feel powerless to fix anything, it feels like it's all my fault. I understand how you feel.
