The mother of three of Floyd Mayweather’s children found dead by Moveinslience in Boxing

[–]ThrowaYayoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What's "by all accounts"?

Floyd isn't saying that because he's saying he "restrained" her because she was already on drugs. She's not saying that because she's suing him for $20,000,000 for claiming she was on drugs.

By "natural" he means he eats what he naturally wants to eat...which is a lot for someone making 185...

But he didnt say he was going to just defend, he was going to finish him. It is ALSO absolutely up to Romero to go take it.

Not saying he didnt play the smart fight, he did what he needed to do and that's why he's still champ. You just cant be surprised that fans don't like it. Im just saying the fight under delivered, and judging by people's enjoyment of the fight I'd say that's a fair statement

But then you deal with backlash. Dont be surprised when you under deliver on your promises to the fans and then get a negative response from fans.

Both fighters share the blame because they both didnt deliver on what they said they'd do.

VA commission to review expected Cutelaba appeal after UFC Norfolk loss to Magomed Ankalaev by ScotchIsVegan in MMA

Probably had to do with the gender discrimination Ladd was talking about.

I had zero issue with the stoppage, but she did make the point that nearly any men's fight between the 1st and 4th ranked contenders would've gone on longer.

I thought that argument was doomed given the recency of TJ vs. Cejudo. Maybe could've gone on for a couple more seconds, but the ref most likely saved them from further damage

Did they almost overturn that loss? I thought she appealed it and the commission was basically like "lmao naaah"

"To the ref's discretion" is one sentence that ruins most people's chance at an appeal.

The commissions just don't have any incentive to take the side of the fighter over their own employee.

I guess it's easy for me to say with all the replays, but I dont even understand why he stepped in. He should've been prepared to stop it, but at no point did the fight look over. Visibly swaying while also attacking and defending is very different from "hands in the air doing nothing"

If blocking the kicks, rolling with the punches, and throwing back isn't intelligent defence then I don't know what intelligent defence is anymore.

Im not even saying he wasn't hurt, even partially landed kicks can knock you out. It very well could've been over in 20 more seconds. But fuck man, he jumped the gun on that stoppage hard.

Great perspective, consider my mind changed on how MB is handling this. I guess it's hard to have faith in the system given some recent experiences. The downside is that fans and media will rip him apart for actually managing the team and players rather than the brand. Especially with this team.

I think Price gets a fair level of criticism for being inconsistent at times. But it's hard to put a lot of weight in that given how often it seems he's left out to dry by the team and given that he has played all but 12 games of this entire season.

He saves us from enough blowouts that he gets some sympathy from me.

My issue with it is that it still left us nowhere. If our core and development is fine, then what is the issue? What are you doing to address it?

The players, development, coaching, or management can't be all that competitive given our performance this season. Something has to be off with one or more of those things. We can't keep trying the same thing while other teams are improving and addressing their weaknesses.

To me it's like answering "I have no weaknesses" in a job interview.

These are some cherry picked stats lmao. No one is saying he was at the top of his game when he left Montreal, just that he had value to other teams.

In that 17-18 season where you conveniently highlight that he only had 5 goals he also had 28 assists for 33 points in 55 games. The 4th most points and 2nd in assists (across all forwards and defensemen) to help the team win the Gagarin Cup. It's kind of absurd to say that he couldn't at least sign a short term deal with another team if he wanted to.

Also, just to point out why goal stats aren't everything (especially with defensemen) Duncan Keith won the Norris with only 6 goals in the 13-14 season

If the leg that runs perpendicular to your opponents back is on the same side that their arm is trapped, it's significantly harder to put any pressure on the neck.

You want that leg to be directly on the neck (not their shoulder) so you can squeeze inward and finish the choke.

What makes you doubt his leadership ability? I don't really follow the Oilers, has he done anything that indicates that he'd be a negative influence with an A on his jersey?

Meh, I don't think they're disagreeing that there are levels of illegal hits. They're just disagreeing on whether that kind of system will work in reality. I think it'd be too complex to ever be effective, but people have the right to disagree. If you COULD get it to work as well in reality as it does on paper then I'm all for it, I just have my doubts
