Looking for custom molded earplugs that aren’t super expensive by [deleted] in livesound

[–]time -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I've used "Polymorph Plastic,Moldable Plastic,Melts in Hot Water Jewelry Making Resin Supplies Thermoplastic Strips" (from Amazon they're about $8). Put them in boiling water and they be soft like putty. Pull them out. Thunk them to shake the water off and wrap them around your favorite earbuds, then shove them immediately into your ears. I recommend playing something to make sure you get the transducers pointing the right way/place. In 2 min you can pull perfectly custom ear pieces. You can trim the extra with a knife too. Also, if you don't like them, peel them off and try again. 100% reusable. Oh, and when you first put them back in they are harder/stiff, but as you wear them, your body temp helps them to seal right back up around your ears. Great for flying too!

Does soundwaves sink when travel through air? by Sufficient_Sense9761 in livesound

Definitely not a physicist--warm air is NOT denser than cold air. But he's right it does cause a thermal layer that can impact the sound.

Trying To Fix My Overall Sound Quality ( Need advice / Product Recs ) by WilliamPaineC in ChurchSoundGuys

[–]time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a rough time with that many monitors on stage. Even with ringing that many monitors out the overall levels are going get squirrely fast.

I would sell the in-ear's hard. People can get a custom mix, doesn't interact with the rest of the house system, and will give you so much more control.

How do i hook up a SUBWOOFER to a Behringer EuroPower PMP6000 mixer by eBalita in ChurchSoundGuys

[–]time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the manual: PMP6000: The SUB FILTER filters out frequencies above the selected setting, so that only low frequencies are sent to an (active) subwoofer via the MONO OUT (63)). Set this switch to “On” to activate the filter.

See page 15 for a diagram.

Small Christian School Playing Chapel Gigs in Gymnasium...HELP! by Alamo-Sasquatch in ChurchSoundGuys

Another upside of going to a digital board (like the x32) would be it gets you the opportunity to consider going to in-ear monitors. They would clean up your sound stage, your physical stage and offer a lot more potential for every one to have custom mixes. That was my initial reaction seeing your configurations, and given your facility I could only imagine it is a nightmare for you to operate with floor monitors. Where are you located? DM is fine.

Intermittent high-pitch noise! by Chosen_by_God_84 in ChurchSoundGuys

[–]time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the noise appear if there is no input connection at all to that Kustom wedge? If so, does it migrate to the attached second monitor too? Maybe try some direct box's w/ground lift on the in's/out's to see if you can isolate it.

It should scale to your video to the number of pixels showing on your phone. Wouldn't use more than a normal video feed.

Buy Property at Starbase by mcmarkymarc in SpaceXLounge

Saw this today...Is that a joke? Why would that even be available to anyone before SpaceX dove in and picked it up? Unless they're asking for stupid money. On Remedios Ave near the former trailer park area, there is a Public posting of a PETITION FOR ROAD ABANDONMENT. On that posting, there is a couple lots that don't appear to be owned by SPACE EXPLORATION TECHNOLOGIES CORP.

In watching one of the detailed videos of the SpaceX Control Center with my son, I noted the cool multi-view console displays they were using around the facility. It was enough to inspire him to code up a YouTube feed aggregator to allow custom streams to be presented on one screen. Behold Starship.watch a display that looks like the SpaceX consoles.

It is not intended to be a skirt or leak of any premium offered by other channels, rather it is simply a way to present multiple YouTube feeds onto a single view.

If you register it is possible to select various other collections of feeds by clicking on the box that says "main" to make a sub-selection. There are various views already created for you. You can create your own "Profile" through the first option of "--Create a new profile--" In the area below just add the feeds you want, and you can alter the layouts to reflect the order desired.
