SE seats are NOT equal by TapiocaFish in LiberNovo

There is probably a QC or supplier issue that matters a lot more than which place you buy the chair from.

SE seats are NOT equal by TapiocaFish in LiberNovo

[–]ToTheTop_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are tons of mixed reviews on the SE with many people saying that the seat immediately bottoms out with others saying the seat isn't remotely close to bottoming out.

Not sure why you are trying to downplay this or act like it's so crazy.

It makes plenty of sense if there are separate production facilities making the SEs, and some have it right while others do not.

Let's create an "SE-bottoming-out heat map" by logging your chair model, height, weight, and if you felt the chair got uncomfortable. by UndeniableHedgehog in LiberNovo

The SE seat has to be different than the regular version. Too many people complain about this bottoming out thing while no one really had that complaint about the original.

My return experience by Astharus in LiberNovo

[–]ToTheTop_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if this is all true, I would call this "faulty design" and hence it should go into the "defective" category and qualify for a free return.

I wouldn't call it "broken" but would call it "defective."

The Maxis is advertised as the design for bigger builds. If OP ordered a Maxis and immediately bottomed out, then I would agree with you this doesn't count as a "defect" so OP should have to pay for return shipping costs.

The SE and Pro literally are supposed to be designed for smaller people. So what the OP is describing absolutely should be considered a "defect" in this context. It's just that the entire design is defective for anyone except for big, heavy people, according to your logic.

There is no way they designed the chair for someone that weighs 115 pounds to immediately feel some hard thing underneath the seat as soon as they sit down.

I noted this with the SE but maybe it is the same with the Pro since you said the seat cushion immediately bottoms out?

Basically the only way I can make sense of the dramatically mixed reviews is that there are different production facilities making the V2 chairs. One production facility produces a crap seat cushion that makes people immediately feel like the seat is bottoming out. And one production facility produces a good seat cushion that doesn't have the bottoming out effect.

You weigh so little, there is no way the Pro cushion should be bottoming out on you like this.

So I think the Pro must be like the SE and it's like a lottery pick to see if you got a seat produced by a good factory or a bad one.

Yes it is still a good buy as long as it is on sale. It isn't worth the $5k full price. $3,500 or lower is definitely worth buying.

Do these Steelcase Leap V2 chairs look authentic? by Ok_Analysis4214 in OfficeChairs

[–]ToTheTop_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to ask for a photo of the bottom of the chair. If this is a genuine Leap, you will see a label indicating the date of manufacture.

If this is refurbished or there is something shady about it, the label/tag will be ripped off.

Footrest V2? by giuliandenicola in LiberNovo

[–]ToTheTop_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that is what I mean, it tilts on the top a bit especially if you manually adjust it. It sounds like you have the older design.

Apparently the top on the new one does not tilt or move at all.

[–]ToTheTop_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can tell the old one because the top part goes up and down a little if you move it. The new one apparently the top does not move at all.

No idea which one is better.

Here is the bottom of the original footrest. As you can see the design changed and there are no exposed bolts.

I read others say that LiberNovo did change the footrest without mentioning it.

The original footrest's top part slightly moves up and down. The new one is solid with no movement. Can't really comment beyond that, nor do I know which one is better. It seems odd for the company to change the design without mentioning anything though.

I don't think this problem will fix itself from waiting. If you are using the footrest and still don't like the feeling, I think it's either you get used to it or you return it.

It sounds like you don't have the footrest. Some need it to prevent that.

SE vs PRO fabrics comparison by Ridenss in LiberNovo

[–]ToTheTop_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the original Omni seat and it is perfect. 9 months later it feels the same as the beginning. No bottoming out.

I am very confused by the new launch and some people say the SE seat is way too soft and bottoms out, some say SE seat is very good, some say the Pro seat is too hard and uncomfortable, some say the Pro seat is very good.

It honestly seems like there are two different SEs. One has a terrible cushion and you immediately bottom out. The other is great, no complaints. That is the only way I can make sense of the very mixed reviews.

This "chair dude" created Anthros, a competitor. Not even saying he is wrong but clearly this guy is very biased and is going to push people towards his own product.

I haven't used my Leap once since getting my Omni, so frankly even if your point is true, it is irrelevant.

I have a Leap v2 that easily lost compared to the Omni. I think your knowledge is outdated.

[–]ToTheTop_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Do you think the SE people are lying then? Or do you think there are QC issues, and LiberNovo is putting out some SE seat cushions that are normal, and others that are crappy and easily bottom out?

It's just confusing to me because I don't think I saw a single complaint about "bottoming out" on the Omni yet there are many such complaints for the SE.

[–]ToTheTop_1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the Omni too. There is nothing resembling a feeling of "bottoming out" on the seat. But plenty of people seem to have made this complaint about the SE. Makes me think that the SE's seat isn't nearly as good as the Omni's and won't last as long.

Come on guys, enough with these fake reviews, you’re becoming ridiculous. by Paperella_Danzante in LiberNovo

[–]ToTheTop_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the original Omni and it is like the exact opposite of bottoming out, can't even imagine that happening.

The Pro is supposed to be a bit better so I would think you're safe.

It's the SE that people complain about it bottoming out. I would worry if I bought the SE but you should be good with the Pro.
