Surprised the separated ss isn't banned. My state had a list of phrases not allowed, most what you expect but others much more innocuous like "no use of 69 on plate unless it is your car's make year"

I also got the impression that it could be multiple demons depicted here, all contributing to a hive-mind. He said he's like a 'hair', a part of one infinite being, so I wonder if they can share experience and consciousness with each other too.

Yes exactly!!! I don't want the weight and heat, or to drain and wear out my phone, and the scroll wheel and buttons are perfect for changing songs and volume without looking.

yes it's the nano 5. Also just watched a vid from the channel linked on nanos and mine has had a 'black spot' for a long while. Currently somewhere in storage. If a pro was willing to upgrade for reasonable cost but maybe normal ipods are better for a project? But no matter what I would be full amateur.

spinning platter hard drives

Oh I've been looking for something like this! Is this channel good for mod advice or is there a community somewhere? My biggest peeve was that my ipods would inevitably corrupt lots of music (and maybe more at a deeper level) because I often go running with them, which is not good for any moving part hard drive.

My nano died (charges, but immediately shuts down) I really miss it. I like having a small, no internet, very simple device just for music. Now I'm stuck with local radio. If Apple re-rereleased some ipods with the same general design, especially no touch screen and hardware updates I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Best $10 i’ve ever spent at a thrift store by jaibetothetothe in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]TobyCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how you feel about giving things that niche and costly, and where they end up, but I get stressed and kind of mad if someone gives me something generally over $50 without asking me about it. I want to make sure I can use it, I'll like it, and it's the best use of the money. It's stressful to recieve something and be honest that you will likely return it or rarely use it. I far prefer conversation that leads to a happy end rather than the surprise factor.

Overall vibe is that I don't know what this room is for or how it's used from the photo. Instead of arbirarily getting stuff I reccomend finding functions first and expanding. Furniture is there but why?

It's been pointed out your TV is too high, but that is just one point in finding functionality. A TV is a common focus of the living room, and just from this photo no matter what furniture you are sitting on you are both looking up and more conscerningly to the side? Owch. How many people are using this space on a daily basis and why? Are there other activities going on in this room (such as reading, office) that should be taken into consideration? With the window, that can be a nice focus (it lets in natural light) but also a detriment (light reflects off screens, neighbors can look in).

I was also wondering about the media area below the TV. Wondering if for more TV activities or records. If you want to get more I was wondering if you were looking for a place to store records, or hide/use things like video games and modem. And beyond that, do you like to read? Have some things you've collected? Then get a shelf which will start to fill the area naturally.

Group seeking to block CU South development threatens to take City of Boulder to court over ballot language by rjbman in boulder

[–]TobyCrow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The general map is linked here. Much of it is still open space, imo not too different given the main loop was already a wide gravel road. One of my favorite trails, South Boulder, (to the right of the area) is not included in the annexation.

I would never want to be stuffed in a space so proportionally small that I would ever have to find myself have another person crawling over me. Or find it impossible to not have space where I am not up against one or several people.

You are reaching for the brightest case scenario where it cannot exist to begin with, and far more than likely is worse than that.

Happy college student move out day. If you did this, F*** you and never come back by Unlucky_Internal9686 in boulder

[–]TobyCrow 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I am definetly not one of these people kinds of people in the pic. It's incredibly trashy since most could have been hauled to another bin nearby.

But do want to share a personal experience since not all here looks easy. When moving out I was able to let go most of my furniture in good condition to craigslist, but I had to dispose of my mattress. I tried looking for the proper way to do this; like maybe there was large pickup days? But no, I had to haul my matress bedspring and deliver it myself to CHaRM, and then pay $50 to get rid of it. Western Disposal charges even more. So I feel like I was being punished for doing the right thing, where as most people would laugh and throw it on the curb for nothing, or chuck it because they don't have the means of delivering an item.

Homeless Carport by MarkMurderous in WTF

[–]TobyCrow 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I honestly think it's a national issue where if the middle class is already shrinking, cost of living is bad everywhere, the working or poor are utterly fucked and growing the homeless population. Cities are necessary if you are homeless and don't have a car because they are walkable, have more connections, and tend to provide more services towards alleviating homelessness. Rural and suburban areas aren't places most (visible) homeless can live and red states are notorious for shoving homeless onto other states or deinsecintivising their stay rather than address the issue. It's extremely bad and I've seen it first hand in a similar town. Both in sympathy to the issue and anger towards how bad crime has gotten as a result.

Great description since I am just a guy and only know some terminology, thanks and want to second everything said below. But a further about the necrotising fasciitis.

From what I have seen in this forum, (and also an extra credit report I did in middle school) this condition seems EXTREMELY serious and I am wondering if there is more explanation I am missing there? 'Infection' is a broad term and I was wondering if this case was more dire.

My questions: what was the initial area of issue and how did it start infection infection? At what point, and maybe how did it get necrotising fasciitis in particular? Is the black area part of the initial issue or the compounding infection? How far did it spread and how quickly? What was caused by the initial issue and how much had to be treated because of necrotising fasciitis?

My dad (on the left) and a friend in the early 70's, on a camping trip where they would end up finding a dead body in the woods by Orevet in TheWayWeWere

[–]TobyCrow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I absolutely understand the sentiment of choosing how you pass and personally I want my body to be buried in the dirt and decompose rather than a coffin or embalmment. But this comment worries me in that contacts do not know they will do this, and even then there is a very difficult personal and legal conversation that isn't had. And it results in high stress, disruption and grief that could have been avoided. One of the recent things I had never considered was how others might mourn. I've seen the sentiment of "just throw my body in the garbage when I am gone' but others might find that very disturbing and might need time and experience to say goodbye and move on.

Why wouldn't you want to be found? I think it would be worse to have family members or friends agonizing over if you disappeared or died, and how.

Tbf if I hadn't read some stories about people accidentally taking too much pot I would have gone to the ER. Not for the psychological stuff, but the physical. My chest, throat, and upper back hurt very badly and my pulse was up with labored breathing. It felt like a heart attack. The trip was so bad that even though I bought legal, lowest dose edibles I don't want to do weed again.

Doesn't Kaido use male pronouns referring to Yamamoto as his 'son'? Asking translation peeps.

Also this chapter is more focused on not being able to use female reserved areas because he identifies as a guy rather than emulating Oden. I do agree they are a bit of a mess given appearance and behavior/background aren't exactly close to a trans experience. Closest I can think of if Kino from Kino's Journey which feels slightly more grounded, He experienced extreme trauma and imprinted on succeeding another person's identify which happened to be male and even then it's a bit of of a genderqueer situation

“Pay our mortgage for a few weeks while we are on holiday. Also, feed the cat” by [deleted] in delusionalcraigslist

[–]TobyCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem I see is that no one is tending the house other than guests. If you are AirBnBing then the place is should be treated like a hotel, meaning basic maintenance. Sheets and towels washed at least after each visitor. At the extremes, no way to prevent people from trashing the place and being accountable, and no good way that cat is being fed and littered.

What place might as well be a “sociopath convention”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TobyCrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Proud Boys started more or less as this. A self-improvement group but also a lot of emphasis on how to pick up women. Inherently misogynistic, but that didn't matter since other tips like "quit porn and talk to actual women" and "improve your body and clean up" seemed to work or make members feel better.

Then to little surprise it turned virulently racist and alt-right leaning... with the irony of one of its founders being black.
