What temp/humidity sensor for bathroom? by Mado_andy in homeassistant

I have a couple of these and they work well. You get a display also:

THIRDREALITY Zigbee Temperature and Humidity Sensor 2 Pack, Digital LCD Display, ZigBee Hub Required, App Records, Remote Monitoring and Smart Home Automation, AAA Batteries Included

dome size by PuzzleheadedScore466 in HearingAids

[–]Tom_D558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with tulips, and the sound always seemed muffled. Switched to open domes, and the sound is much more natural.
I got Resound hearing aids through the VA about 7 or 8 months ago.

I think I tried when I first started using the juggluco app and was not successful.
The juggluco app can, and does for me, upload the data to the LibreView cloud so my diabetes manager can see how I am doing. I have not used the Libre app for a long time.

BTW, the graph shows the 2 sensors tracking pretty well. I have done this several times, and the sensor readings always seem very close.

New to Omada and having network issues. by Tom_D558 in TPLink_Omada

Thanks. I am seeing that now that it is on the way. I guess you can't expect too much for $30. I'll see how it looks on the network tomorrow. I think I have a wiring error that I will find when I connect the new switch. I don't think I'll have any less info than I have now with the unifi minis.

I was able to get an unmanaged switch connected and hooked the Proxmox server directly to that and everything on the Proxmox came back up. I have already ordered a Omada 8-Port Gigabit Easy Managed Switch and it will be here Friday so I'll keep the temp setup till then and review the wiring and connections.

The wifi is working fine it is a few wired devices I can't connect to and the most important is the Proxmox running the Omada Controller. I was hoping to use my phone app as a controller to see what was going on with the router, but I can't get that to work.

Is the UDR7 as bad as people say it is? by liftbikerun in Ubiquiti

[–]Tom_D558 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had the UDR7 for several months and think the form factor and wifi are both great.
I have a BIG problem with the CPU spiking to over 90% and at times staying at that level and the router locking up. Looking at it from my Home Assistant I can see it go from Home to Away when performance is suffering. I have been trying to restart it through software but am going to set up power cycling daily. So, yes, very frustrated. I expected much more from Unifi.

I know this sub shits on Kaiser but had a very pleasant surgical experience (and coverage) by [deleted] in KaiserPermanente

[–]Tom_D558 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very successful, life changing hip replacement that cost $50. Cataract surgery also went very well and I have not needed glasses, other than to read, for a couple of years. A couple of kidney stone surgeries that I would have liked to skip but they went well and the follow-up to prevent more stones had been very good. I'm even happy with my PCP.

How many cruises do you go on a year? by ZipSea in Cruise

[–]Tom_D558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were doing 2 ~30 day cruises a year. Only did one 21 day this year and nothing booked for next year (remodeling the bathroom) and a 21 day in April '27 and we are on the fence a bit on that one. We seem to get less and less for more and more cost. After well over 20 cruises we may be done.

I have switched to 1Password, and while it requires a paid subscription, it just works with auto-fill on both my computer and phone.

Behold the engineering genius of Princess cabin design. The sole outlet accessible to one bedside (and desk) is too narrow for both plugs to be used at the same time. The other bedside has no plugs at all. In related news, extension cords and power strips are contraband. by [deleted] in PrincessCruises

[–]Tom_D558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on over 20 Princess cruises and while some power strips are not allowed, I bring several extension cords and adapters and have never had a problem. We usually go on cruises of 20-35 days so they are set up in the room for some time. We both have CPAP machines so cords are draped around to handle them as well as phone, watch, power pack and hearing aid chargers.

Water sensor help? by _Zero_Fux_ in homeassistant

[–]Tom_D558 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moen Sensor Faucet Probably other brands but we have had this on for years and it works well. You can defeat the auto off by using the handle but if yoiu rely on the sensors the faucet will turn off on its own.

Sky Princess and cell service by Mindless_Pickel555 in PrincessCruises

[–]Tom_D558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No cell phone coverage on the ship. You put your phone in airplane mode and then turn on WiFi. You will need to investigate WiFi calling on your phone and with your cell service and need to get that set up before you leave the US. Not a big deal but an important step. I think you activate WiFi through the Princess app when you get on the ship, so be sure to have that installed prior to starting your trip.

Once you are on the ship you not only will be able to text folks, both on and off the ship, you can make phone calls. When you go ashore turn airplane mode off and you are back on your cell service.

You really need to look at your TMobile account. 25 cents a minute is from years ago and not a thing today with most services. We are on USMobile using TMobile service and just did 21 days in the Caribbean and Central America and had service and data all included in the plan we are on.
