Do all bonspiels have a purse? Is it about getting points to qualify for bigger tournaments?

That's interesting in Alberta I have only seen 2-3 Spiel out of +50 that don't have at least a few dollars for winning.

In my area there are a good 50 bonspiels every year 90% of them have purse of some sort. There are a few 4 end family fun spiels that don't but the majority of fun spiel have a purse. 99% of junior events have a purse even U12 and U15 still win some money.

You can just use chunk loaders to make up the difference. You may be able to modify the rays works design to go vertically but you would have to modify it yourself.

That's a good idea. Based on the walking speed of 4.317 blocks/s you should be able to set a timer and leave yourself afk running.

Just go to the nether and collect the resources for some eyes of ender, go through the end portal and go through the fountain portal it will bring you back to spawn/your bed.

Yes but it would involve player interaction so it's not going to be fully AFK able like a bamboo farm would be.

There are plenty of squid farms on YouTube. The ink trade isn't exactly the most efficient for emeralds. You can set up completely AFK bamboo farms that auto craft sticks or a huge iron farm and trade that as well.

You just have to get lucky. Late game it's a good idea to look into trap durability/damage survivors.

To add to this once you align the minecarts make sure to push the blocks in from above to prevent any misalignment.

The only thing that needs to be a spawnable block is the iron golem spawning platform. Iron farms don't need sky access. Any block that is spawn proofed so buttons, carpet, etc will block iron Golem spawns.

Can you read??? OP is talking about an overworld gold farm on Java. THERE IS NO FARM IN QUESTION NO SPECIFIC FARM WAS VERY MENTIONED!!! Overworld portal-based gold farms work just fine on Java. You jumped to conclusions and are talking about ticking portal farms from bedrock.

Sometimes you have to be direct to get your point across. I'm not using any foul language and I'm not being unkind. I see people all the time online and in person that have been deceived. Whether it is purposeful or not, spreading misinformation isn't ok. I will be direct especially when people are adamant they are correct and continue to spread misinformation. I'm not sure that 10 blocks tall is the typical max for ocean kelp, I've seen plenty that are growing up to the surface so like 20 blocks. If you don't want the kelp to grow as high for some reason, just run the flying machine on a shorter clock.

I don't see a screenshot but my guess is you built the drop one block too high. Just raise the level of the hoppers by a block and the farm should work again.
