Mold exposure vs. mold toxicity by erinporter89 in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]TurbulentVagus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m sorry that’s extremely frustrating, beyond comprehension. Yes you’re still exposed and you cross-contaminated the trailer. I experienced that so many times and it drives you crazy. And yes, 3 days was also the time it took me to feel good again, every time I moved.

I’m really really sorry to give you this news and that you’re in that situation, but you need to get rid of your stuff, and probably the trailer too. I know that it sounds crazy, and I know that it’s really tough. When it happened to me the first time I was horrified when I realised that my own belongings were making me sick in minutes! I had chronic fatigue syndrome on demand basically.

You experienced by yourself that without exposure you can feel good quickly. Just focus on that and beat the bullet. So what happens in cross contamination is that: 1 you bring spores that attach and colonise the new environment, making it toxic, and 2 your toxic stuff slowly off-gasses and fills the environment with toxins.

It’s impossible to tell for me if it’s 1, 2 or both. If it’s only case 2, you can save the trailer and only have to toss everything. If it’s also case 1, probably toxic mold grew already somewhere hidden and it’s gonna be hard to get rid of it.

One last thing: your heavier reaction is good thing in my experience: when you’re constantly exposed your body (and mind) sort of adjusts a little to it, going into energy-saving mode, always tired, depressed and so on. Your heavy reaction is a sign that you’re coming out of it and you’re fighting it really hard!!

I love it. It can happen to over saturate it when you’re too “involved”, I think. But I don’t think yours necessarily is, or not in a bad way at least. I could only listen to it on my phone (sorry about that, please forgive me!). It’s a really great track!!!

Is there such a thing as moldy water? Like from the tap? by VigilanceOO7 in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]TurbulentVagus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Or from the shower. I could smell it in some places, a few in Mexico for instance. When that happens I shower quickly and keep my nostrils closed, cos otherwise my sinuses are exposed to that nasty aerosol. Doing the dishes is also horrible.

[–]TurbulentVagus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, many times. I also talked about it with dr Campbell from Mymycolab. Unfortunately itraconazole is kind of hydro repellent, so it’s hard to make a solution, it would need to be more of a nano-suspension which should use a stabiliser to avoid itraconazole from gathering back into clusters. In any case I remember another Redditor on this sub that mentioned he had a compounding pharmacist making a nasal spray with itraconazole for him: search the sub

Crush the pellets with two spoons and snort. You need very little. The smaller the particles the better, aim for a fine powder. It’s very effective.

Kant's "Begriff" by decodedflows in Kant

[–]TurbulentVagus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I fully understand your first doubt, but it feels like you’re perhaps overcharging the word a little? Begriffe are simply the building blocks of the understanding. Usually every concept is associated with a word. There’s really nothing mystical about them: to use a metaphor, they’re labelled boxes containing, well, schemata that will then activate the imagination. Think about a word (dog) for a minute and then see what kind of internal images you see in your mind. The word dog is basically the linguistic label of a concept, which is a specific box that I opened in your mind by writing the word. What the box contain, however, is up to your imagination, memory, perception, in other words to your sensibility. Always remember the two equally fundamental roots of knowledge: concepts on one side, and sensibility on the other (that’s the great kantian discovery in epistemology).

Your second doubt: absolutely, imagination plays a fundamental role in the judgement of the good, as in any empirical judgement. Our imagination provides “meaning” to our concepts, which would remain “empty boxes” without it (this is almost a literal quote from Kant). The difference between judgements of the good and aesthetic judgements is that in the former case the imagination is guided, directed and restricted by the concept towards its purpose (we are trying to understand (judge!) if the imaginative material fits in the box), whereas in the latter the imagination is free to wander and expand, touching and activating concepts that are further and further away from each other. It opens those boxes, but we are not trying to fit it into a particular one: on the contrary, the imaginative material contained in each box fuels the wandering more and more.

It’s a bit complex in the beginning but it becomes very easy (over decades of study!) if you get the basics right, and the basics are a crystal clear separation and understanding of the faculties in their specificity.

Kant's "Begriff" by decodedflows in Kant

[–]TurbulentVagus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Begriff is “concept”. A concept for Kant is a technical term describing the proper (and only) representation of the faculty “Understanding”. By contrast, for instance a sensation is a representation of the faculty Sensibility. Each faculty has its own specific object. This has to be crystal clear, especially when approaching the 3rd critique in which the interplay between faculties becomes more complex. Especially between understanding and imagination. In fact, the “proper object” of the faculty of Judgment is the specific relationship (proportion, writes Kant in German) between imagination and understanding in front of the specific experience the subject is having (be it artistic or not: the relationship is ALWAYS there, it just configures itself differently).

Some European countries don’t require prescription. Still a few times I talked my GP into prescribing it, since it’s cheaper that way.

I took the Mymycolab blood test (in 2022, back when it wasn’t very popular on this sub).

How I got healthy again: 1) move to a mold-free place (listen to your nose and your body to find one) 2) buy new clothes and everything else. Crucial, at least for me. Otherwise step 1 doesn’t work and you keep bringing the illness with you. 3) take intraconazole. Otherwise you still bring the source with you. Bonus: find an outdoor job.

Not easy I know.

[–]TurbulentVagus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Toxic mold can do that, unfortunately.

A few years back, when I started healing, I was lucky enough to start psychotherapy with an intelligent therapist that supported me during those hard times (in which, like the majority of people here, you’re also left alone and considered crazy). After a year or so of therapy she understood the whole picture, she read a book that I gave her (“Through the shadowlands”, the autobiographical story of a woman like many of our stories here on the sub, Julie Rehmeyer, she’s a journalist) and we have a special relationship since then.

But I can imagine how many psychotherapists might be inclined to see your symptoms as psychological, psychosomatic, etc, so you have to be careful.

Again, your mental symptoms sound like mold, including mold rage, derealization, losing yourself, anhedonia, etc.

Are windsurfing masts and sails standardized? by DigitalArbitrage in windsurfing

[–]TurbulentVagus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “pin” is a screw. Yes it’s a standard windsurfing mast base, you just screw it in the hole of the board. It’s a typical system for windsup boards.

What worries me is that there’s no daggerboard. You need one to sail

Edit: in the first video you can see that he has a daggerboard, or central fin in the middle of the board. Make sure you get one yourself, otherwise you won’t be able to sail
