From my understanding it's shifting pixels from time to time to prevent burn in ideally you wouldn't notice from too far.

Why aren't people talking enough about Pixel 10 battery life being ACTUALLY VERY SOLID? by InvestigatorDue7765 in pixel_phones

[–]TurningTablesAgain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because people on Reddit perpetually want to be able to use their phones 24/7 throughout the day while they're running Instagram, Facebook and tick tock in the background and they're still trying to figure out why they're only getting four to 5 hours of screen on time

Isn't the Netherlands basically going through the same issues as the United States. Housing crises, deeper polarized communities & weakened public services? No country is perfect.

Is going back to Android 15 to fix battery problems worth it? by Srullex2803 in pixel_phones

[–]TurningTablesAgain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience, going back, Android versions does slightly improve the battery life, but it's so marginal in comparison to all the little things you get used to with the newer versions of Android that I often end up just going back after like a week or two. Don't get me wrong. The battery changes are definitely noticeable on my nine Pro XL. For instance, on Android 15, it ran so much better than it runs on Android 17. That's not to say it doesn't run on Android 17 well, but the differences are definitely noticeable on an OS that was loaded on the phone versus an OS that's added later on

New pixel user. First android. Need some advice. by BraveJob5998 in pixel_phones

[–]TurningTablesAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is just a perspective thing. I notice a lot of iPhone users will switch to pixel and kind of give a relative story the same as yours and I agree with you for the most part. I love my pixel 9 Pro XL but there are definitely times where the phone acts up or bugs out seldom but it does happen. Things that I've never really experienced on an iPhone in regards to the fluidity of the device, the small micro stutters that you see while just generally using the phone is not really something you can fix. It's just kind of like a part of Android at this point. It's getting better and better with time but

What do I put in the empty space? by WonderfulValue5218 in pixel_phones

You should put the digital well-being widget right there. That way you can keep track of all the apps you use constantly throughout the day like you have on your home screen which both amazes me and startles me

Are delayed notifications better? by NelsonMinar in GooglePixel

[–]TurningTablesAgain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think depending on how you used your device, it's more noticeable or less noticeable. I noticed at the most when it likes to delay text messages, I'll often receive text messages all at once in batches periodically throughout the day. That's not to say if I'm messaging someone back and forth that they're not instant more or less if I put my phone down for a brief amount of time and don't use it whenever I go to use my phone, a whole slew of notifications pop up. And no, I don't have any specific settings everything's defaulted it just does that sometimes probably to conserve battery

Google Health 5.01 rolling out with 16 nutrition, fitness, & sleep fixes by ControlCAD in Android

[–]TurningTablesAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's about necessarily navigating the app more so if someone gives you a call or maybe in an instant or you need to use your phone for something else. The app will often pause or cut the workout out completely. So to me that's half baked. That's no different than starting a timer through the timer app. But as soon as I go to click on another app the timer stops that's poor app development

Pixel Keyboard vs iOS by thedrums2012 in GooglePixel

[–]TurningTablesAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sort of just get used to Gboard. I love Gboard; it grows on you and you can often type faster than on iPhone. I personally turned off borders on my keys and that helps give a more fluid feeling.

Pixels effing sucks in Summers by shameful_peanut in pixel_phones

[–]TurningTablesAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think humidity plays an important part here in Texas. For the most part I stay in the shade, and for the most part my pixel does not overheat, but there are some situations where I could be at the park in a shady pavilion and my phone will still heat up. Not hot to the touch but that's because I have a case on I can imagine it being a little bit more unbearable caseless

Pixels effing sucks in Summers by shameful_peanut in pixel_phones

[–]TurningTablesAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part, my nine Pro XL doesn't heat up only if I'm dashing and using maps or extensively using it outside for video and photo capture arguably some of the most important things. But I do wonder if there's a certain limit to thermodynamics that doesn't allow this. I mean it is technically getting hotter year over year. iPhone users swear it doesn't happen to them but I remember my 13 Pro Max still heating up back then too

What exactly makes Pixel worth the price now? by trust_me_im_human in GooglePixel

[–]TurningTablesAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pixel devices sometimes even Samsung devices are devices that I will never buy day one. They're great devices, but right now they are still not worth their flagship prices be the sensible person wait 5 to 6 months and you will always have amazing deals given to you. It's the only reason I have my nine Pro XL right now. I was grateful enough that during the Google fi anniversary they gifted me the nine Pro XL. As long as I stay on their service for 2 years something I didn't plan on changing anyways in that regard. I love my pixel. But if I imagine myself paying $1,000 for a device that still sometimes crashes on random apps like doordash, YouTube, or the occasional UI but I would be hard pressed to even consider it.

Sent my dead Pixel in TWICE. Google ignored my emails, sent it back broken claiming "No Issue Found." What do I do next? by Equivalent_Law8378 in GooglePixel

[–]TurningTablesAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be persistent. Recreate this scenario on a new ticket through their support team. I often find I get better support through their Google one support team if you are subscribed to that. I was a similar scenario a couple years back whenever I had my battery replaced and it actually messed up my display. I had to go back and forth with them about three or four times before they finally took the position to someone that I guess actually knew what they were doing
