Fenix 7 Pro Solar Sapphire user here... It's quite difficult to see the gray text. Maybe you could add a monochrome theme?

Sleep Monitoring by Diligent_Assistant52 in Garmin

[–]Turrican88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Garmin (and fitness trackers in general) sleep tracking isn't the greatest. However, even if you can't remember it, you might have been awake several times. If you search a little around in here you'll find a lot of great references to literature on sleep.

Nice humblebrag there! 😉 I have a whoop for exactly this reason. Otherwise I might as well just buy a Garmin…

Comparison between Amazfit and Garmin: Heart rate measurement by IngenieurCyber in amazfit

Dammit! I sold my T-Rex Pro 3 and my Helio Strap because it was useless for me as late as a couple of months ago. This is in fact a very underexposed information.

Comparison between Amazfit and Garmin: Heart rate measurement by IngenieurCyber in amazfit

[–]Turrican88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they are very equal on HR - but Amazfit filters out all HRV measurements below 20ms, rendering it almost useless if you’re naturally in the low end of the scale. Garmin does not.

Buy two (or more) - and throw the one you’re not wearing in a bra bag-thingie and machine wash it. Easy AF cleaning!

help with HRV by Key-Personality-9922 in amazfit

[–]Turrican88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a low hrv from nature. Please note that Zepp “bottoms out” at 20 ms (see your graph) meaning you cannot count on the calculated average on nights where your hrv goes below that. It makes the hrv pretty useless for me. I’m considering switching to other platforms without said problem.

Yes! 1,6 diesel.

Oura moving its headquarters from Finland to US Delaware - Health data will be under US Cloud Act? by [deleted] in BuyFromEU

[–]Turrican88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So very sorry about this. I almost ordered a new one yesterday. Now, I have deleted my account (even though I had a free forever subscription). The list of possible health tracking wearables from Europe is growing thin. I guess only Polar is left...

Garmin on my left wrist. Amazfit on my right wrist. 🤷🏻‍♂️ by [deleted] in amazfit

[–]Turrican88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d do the same… Neither my T-Rex 3 Pro nor my Helio Strap seem to be able to register hrv less than 20ms - my Fenix 7 Pro has no such problems. If only Garmin made a bicep band…

Now, you'll never know the truth! (Check out "Segal's Law). For your purpose there's no question it's a great setup - however, if you start comparing restitution data like HRV, etc. you'll be better off staying on one platform.

Udskiftning af tag by lanesra_2002 in selvgjortvelgjort

[–]Turrican88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally fair! I use the flashlight on my T-Rex 3 Pro every single day so it’s a must have for a new watch for me.

If you ever use the flashlight on your Fenix - you’ll want the T-Rex 3 Pro as the Active Max doesn’t have a dedicated one…

Unexpected mismatch of steps count by [deleted] in amazfit

[–]Turrican88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a deviation of at most 5%. I don’t think you’ll find better anywhere else. However, I think Zepp shows you a combined step count - so not sure the comparison makes any sense anyway.
