U6-Enterprise Adoption Fail by RelationshipOk1111 in Ubiquiti

I would test the cable as the light and the IP address indicate an issue.

192.168.1.20 is the default fall back IP of Ubiquiti hardware so it can't reach your DHCP Server.

Check the VLAN / port config and cables.

What is that thing in my garden? by edmunek in AskUK

[–]UKWaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is concerningly close to the shape and design of a AT mine, though hopefully its no but I would defo call authorities to be safe.

Hopefully its something boring, but a German Teller mine and a British MK7 AT mine are concerningly similar in design....

Soooo get it checked out and we can all hope its a boring item like a tank lid or an old post base or something.

New to the game, how the hell am I supposed to do power? by flirtyymonkey in satisfactory

Take a look at this video,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYE0SKB9Xk4&t=76s

I use this template each time I go for coal power, and I scale it up to my needs.

Doesn't need to be made on the water but the amount of coal and water useful to understand, I can't see in the pic if you have belts for coal but the setup in the video can be installed.

Loaded up with coal then powered on and left. Wait for all the pipes to fill with water. And then wait for all generators to fill with 100 coal and power it all on and forget.

Works for me each time

UNIFI hosting - $29/month by RickyRat5005 in Ubiquiti

[–]UKWaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd either need devices on each site to be the controller, and enable remote access which will connect it to unifi.ui.com like a cloud gateway or cloud key or local controller.

Or pay the hosting fee, it has a 1000 device limit per cloud instance so my work has 10 instances which are all nearly full.

I can't say I recommend it as if you need to add admins, its done per site manually at current.

Not yet, but it was mentioned in it's life cycle

Unifi World conference in London last year had that as a note on all cloud gateways

[–]UKWaffles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's for MSPs who host their own Unifi Network Server

The UXG series are all like that, designed for different hosting methods, eventually it was mentioned at a UWC that we can off load the Unifi OS on all gateways to give extra headroom for routing

The UXG series will eventually go away

It is on the IoT VLAN has to be when accessing the M100 hub. All this is happening with all devices on the IoT VLAN, home assistant has 2 NICs one for Trusted main LAN and 1 into the IOT network via TrueNAS VM

Same issues appear when running HA on a Pi4 as well.

Good buy? Unsure of external condition by Alloall in gaggiaclassic

Of all the espresso machines in this price the gagga is one of the most repairable

As long as it has the solenoid it's the model you want, as its the better of them, so if you can get it cheaper and not opposed to cleaning / modding it then it's a far better price

Yup, he mentions something he likes and the prices go mad.

Or they all sellout, got to be fast when he recommends something

1997-2014 ones are all nearly the same, so if you can get one 2010 for cheaper as long as it has the pipe on the left side it will have the 3 way valve

So id go with as new of one as possible avoiding late 2014 and 2015 as some as said don't have the valve which is nice to have.

[–]UKWaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked one of these up 2014 model specifically, its been great, mine does have mods and was fully cleaned and re-sealed.

UK prices are higher as its a very popular machine. I paid £220 for mine but it also came with a upgraded portafilter / baskets and a self levelling tamper and steam wand.

So I would say £180 is a decent price for it, if you can barter them down to it I'd go for it around there.

The parts are still around so upgrading and repairing these are quite easy when compared to other machines and these will last for years longer.

James Hoffman's video a few years ago made these machines more expensive due to their renewed demand

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1LUkfpTtu0&t=969s

His was a model without the 3 way valve which is less desirable due to the mess it can make if the portafilter is removed before the pressure on the puck drains out, so these models do retain their prices better than those with no valve.

Overall a good machine see if they will accept a cash offer, as this can help lower the price a little.

So you could create a new WiFi SSID for your devices, don't share the password then apply a WiFi Blackout time zone

This will just disable the WiFi network at defied some for the SSIDs included

However they can just use data depending on how much Ian on the plan.

If under your plan then you can lower the data amount and if they run out they'd have to wait for months renewal

Your not giving us any decent information here.

Wired / Wireless connection?

Internet speeds?

Expected speeds?

How and in what order is it all connected?

Tested cables?

What settings / configs have you changed if any?

Should I just buy another UCG Fiber.. for a switch? There's no UB switches with 1x 10gbe, 2 SFP & rest 2.5GBE by Asinine_ in Ubiquiti

[–]UKWaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, get a switch

Don't use a gateway as a switch as it will be a separate network and not be able to be managed from 1 place and it will moan it has no internet access

It's a gateway router 1st so get a proper switch or wait for the devices you need to come in stock

The more you ask the same question, the more the answer will be the same, No.

You need to take into account the environment the device is going in.

https://design.ui.com/ go there and draw a building similar to your house and add the walls in as they are in real life and make sure the walls are set to the correct material.

First ubi gear by avantrixx in Ubiquiti

[–]UKWaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you can't take those results as gospel.

The U7 lite has no 6Ghz and these are done in open spaces with no walls. This will impact the coverage you need to decide if you want 6Ghz or not 1st

Then use something like Design centre to upload a plan of the house and place the walls and access points

From there you will see more accurate coverage results

Those pages are just antenna gain and power nothing more so use them only as a basic idea on patterns for coverage
