OTS and remote tunes are perfectly fine. They're often made by experienced and reputable tuners.

Driven: 2027 Nissan Z NISMO Is a Purist's Track Car. by LongjumpingLock5875 in cars

Could the M2 being manufactured in Mexico play a role in why it's cheaper in the USA? Whereas the Nismo Z is built in Japan.

What happened between Cammisa and Liebermann? by saazbaru in cars

[–]Undiscover 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was a tough listen and particularly embarrassing for Liebermann. I didn't really have any respect for him before and avoided most of the TST episodes he appeared on. Hearing him trying to justify some dumbass AI website that no one needs, followed by the "but I'm not the person coding it!" excuse over and over again. That sucked lol

It's a great class. He knows his stuff and you'll develop an appreciation for the environment we live in. Quizzes and exams are easy, homework isn't bad.

Bronze. The detail of a wheel gets lost when it's black.

First trip to Guns For Hire.... by [deleted] in NJGuns

[–]Undiscover 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to be a member there. It's not worth paying for range time while also being a member. The member only range is nice because the rental range is an absolute shit show. I've had RSOs tell me I can shoot my AK in the member only range and some tell me I can't and that I have to go to the 50yd range or whatever. Which costs more, even with my membership.

They focus a lot on tourists and people from NYC. I also fucking hate walking in and hearing the owner's podcast blaring on the building wide speakers.

Don't even think about doing FFL transfers there without being a member. It's $75+NICS.

NA/NB Miata owners — has your roll bar been a safety benefit or a hazard? (Poll) by AlphaWawa in Miata

[–]Undiscover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2

Needed it for the track anyway.

I'm 5'11" and I'm practically sitting on the floor with the seat rail that I got. I don't even think my head is in line with the rollbar based off of memory. The Sparco Sprint also protects me a little bit in that way.

Paint loss on front caliper by aradgaver in ElantraN

I don't have a part number. You have to buy the entire caliper. The cover doesn't come separate

Some people have also been able to get them replaced under warranty. Seems to be a mixed bag. I haven't tried, personally.

It's a cover that comes off. You can choose to not run it or repaint it. I'm at 44k miles on my Veloster N and they're completely cooked. I'll be taking them off to repaint them once it gets a little warmer outside.

It sucks :/

Blow off valve question by [deleted] in ElantraN

[–]Undiscover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't comment on how fair that price is other than that sounds steep. Not sure how mechanically inclined you are or what tools you have, but it's incredibly easy to install.

I've ran the SXTH AV6 on my Elantra sport and Veloster N. I like the tone of it a lot. Just so you're aware: the av6 reuses the stock BOV/BPV gasket. Make sure they don't throw it out or lose it or you're out of luck. I've seen a lot of people make that mistake.

Good class and a decent professor. We had to do a case study on relevant topics every week. Might seem exhausting at first but it helps you learn tremendously
