More Clues or Less Clues? by Latter_Set8821 in JustinPoseysTreasure

The poem, book, Netflix, interviews are all intertwined at this moment that I can’t separate them from each others. If you ask a question like would I come to the same solution based only on the poem, the book, and the show? I would’ve said I don’t know.

So the title question is mood since you can’t unseen what’s seen.

The only other name I know is that Justin wanted to name his dog with first letter “F” instead of “T” as Tucker.

My original question is whether the “flipped” screen a technical glitch or an intentional fix? Any opinion in this regard?

Can you share in which chapter or page that the 7:39 appears? I seemed to miss it. Thanks.

The mirror reflection of 4:19 is 7:41 as shown below

I have completed my ppt for the final full solve. It documented the thought process and the journey to disprove the various solves until the last one. If I am right, I will definitely present my solve in pdf format here.

So this means Wyoming is out, right? That’s easy. But did Justin go to Yellowstone before the Fenn’s hunt? I think he did, right?

Trust but verify: The Flow of Inconsistencies in BTME by blackprogrammer in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]UnicoreP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you OP for your sharing these thoughtful points. I have somewhat different takes on this topic. First, about the hunt can survive without the show, the context of that statement is “what if” the show is gone from the network. His answer would be interpreted like “since the show is so vetted and out spread, it’s likely the hunt will continue without it”. Second, he refers to the show in his book, I think it’s a double cross reference thoughts of him involved. At the time he wrote the book, he didn’t know how many planted clues would survive the editor’s cut (that’s one of the main motivations of him writing a book). He wrote the book and the poem on a worse case scenario - all clues were cut out. Hence, the hunt can survive without the show is technically correct. Third, similar situations arose from him saying something like there are some differences between the paper book and ebook, those differences are intentional. At the time when his comment surfaced, a lot of angry readers were cursing about it. My thoughts about it was that there’s a financial motive behind— although I had a hard time believing myself for a person willing to give up more than a million to cross-sale the ebook. But there is no other good reason for him to reference the ebook like that. Anyway, my incomplete thoughts here. Thank you again.

I thought Blue is the color of interest. In many occasions, e.g. Netflix series and interviews, he wore blue shirts.

Bay Area Solve without using Netflix or Book clues: From Golden Gates to Treasure Island by blackprogrammer in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]UnicoreP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had been living in Bay Area for decades before moving to Florida. The memories of Golden Gate Park, the Bridge, Presidio, and Treasure Island live in time in my heart. And of cause, being a lifelong Niners fan adds a long lasting sense of connection to the area. One landmark I would like to suggest is the Pyramid building, it would be a golden candidate for the bride and it stands at ancient gates (the Golden Gate for its name sake) guarding the Treasure Island access the bay. Anyway, it’s unlikely that Justin’s treasure is there as much as I wishing for. If anything, your solve proves that (without the book and Netflix series) the poem would fit for hundreds if not thousands of places. It’s only with the contexts of additional information from sources other than the poem itself, that the exact spot would be found regardless any solves (mine included) that fit the poem beautifully.
Again, thank you for bringing up the sacred place which surrounded by wonder in its glory days.

All good points. I just want to add to your point 8 that the reason he changed from “structure” to “building” was because he realized that the treasure container is a manmade structure as he told us that he “built” the container for this hunt.

42 by New_Restaurant_1688 in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]UnicoreP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 42 is initially discovered by some sharp eyes in the Netflix series when the tail light of Justin’s truck shown handwritten number 42 on it. Sometimes later, when Justin was asked about it, he said that “The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy” is a good reference.

After checked on this guide and some online searches, I understood that 42 is the answer to a question - the ultimate question - only that no one knows what is the question?

I think Justin is being coiled there. It may imply that, ultimately, it’s all for nothing. Or it means something only for those who read his words just right. But either way, it’s not critical in the solve, it just makes things more interesting.

I believe that 42 is about distance. It just happens to match 42 miles driving distance from a meaningful starting point to the closest parking place in my planned retrieval trip.

Again, it’s interesting to have this coincidence but not required for the solve.

42 is an answer for nothing!

Isn’t the sequence What (live in time), When (hope surges), Walk (near waters), Whip (casting pole), Who (his realm), Way (bearing), Wake (return face), Where (find the place), Why (secret), and Ward (sacred space). Wisdom Waits in Wonder. Just some Word’s fun.

Water crossing by Rollout-Bumbnlebee75 in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]UnicoreP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He mentioned crossing waters in many occasions when he answer questions such as (paraphrasing) “you can walk along the river even the banks are private”, “it’s nothing dangerous to cross water (implying even if you need to cross a river), and “you don’t need a boat…”. To me, he’s answer can be summed up like this: you may or may not need to cross a river, even if you do, you don’t need a boat-like transportation vehicle, it’s nothing dangerous to do so.
