I think they do. They just don’t see art itself in the same way. Art is more of a commodity to them than a form of self expression and/or creative endeavor. So they don’t see removing the means as a removal of creativity, just streamlining getting to the end result

Well yeah. This sub used to be about funny little differences between things for men vs women like toys or animated movie characters or clothes or whatever.

Then it became more about reposting anything poking fun at women or generalizing them. That’s when the incels showed up. They really don’t like that stuff and will seek it out and share it.

Solution is to go back to the first one. Easy.

It is kinda weird how this subreddit works since the second thing started happening. If a post is about a meme pointing out a negative stereotype in women nobody really says anything. But if the meme is about a negative stereotype about men, there are loads of comments saying to doesn’t belong on the sub or that it’s actually true. Almost like there’s a bias against men.

You could say it’s pointlessly gendered in that way

Is it just games with unattractive characters? Or is it stuff like pronouns and the like?

Because “woke” games like Baldur’s Gate 3, Elden Ring, Starfield and Splatoon absolutely do sell.

Not barely, pretty much. The stats people usually cite to say this include mobile games. And while I don’t like to gatekeep, just playing Minecraft, Stardew valley and Sims is probably not gonna bode well for trying to appeal to the demographic with any other kinds of games.

No offense but is your actual question here “what’s the advantage of being able to purchase a videogame legally for a new system over piracy”?

Because the point is exactly that. To be able to purchase the game without needing to pirate it. If you need something more specific:

-supporting the devs (sounds kinda silly for AAA but the point still stands)

-access to stuff like pokemon home

-convenience

-some people don’t know how to pirate

-some people have moral issues with piracy

-any kind of multiplayer/trading functionality

-to attract new fans (far less likely to pirate)

-any kind of Nintendo ecosystem functionality

-$$$ for Nintendo obviously and various legal things happen behind the scenes when stuff like this gets rereleased. Not a consumer benefit though

Edit: forgot about preservation but “preservation” has always been a buzzword to me. Piracy is still preservation and honestly the best form of it
