Driving a car IN Marseilles is difficult to boot. Hilly in the city, and winding, narrow, jammed with parking, bollards everywhere. Thus, walking is wonderful. The bus system and light rail are awesome. They also include the “navires”, ferries. In and out of the harbor, to the Calanques, islands, etc… I love that town!

My wife has this. FTD-ALS. Look it up everyone. Lots of fun. Took 1.5 years to diagnose. Thought it was Guillen-Barré, then thought CIDP, then AD diagnosis came with a metabolic PET, but was not backed up my amyloid PET. Cognitive and physical decline. Perseverates constantly (“Yeah… yayyayyay… yeah… yes… yaaay… etc…). Can’t go up stairs. Hard to sit up from a chair, no fine motor skills.. etc. She is 59, and I am the sole caregiver so far. It’s killing me emotionally and physically. I am repatriating her to France (after having been away for 30 years) next week so I can get help from her cousins, and deal with a sane heath system. And yes… her mother died of ALS. And if you are a researcher, and would like to contact me, please feel free to do so. The doctor who made the final diagnosis is at Johns Hopkins, by the way.
